What a great fight it was! How did you saw it? I know that this was a controversial fight on this forum, but personally I don't think it was a robbery. My scorecard looks like this: Williams-Martinez 1. 9-8 Williams more active and aggressive, Martinez lands some clean shote, KD each 2. 9-10 Martinez in control, landed cleaner punches 3. 9-10 clear, big round 4. 10-9 close. Williams good finish with a power shot, Martinez controled by that time 5. 10-9 more active, better of exchanges for Williams 6. 10-9 clear 7. 10-9 close, Williams hitted more, Martiez harder 8. 10-9 Williams lands multiple jabs, Martinez nic finish with power punches, Williams worked hard whole round 9. 9-10 Martinez great defense, body work, counters, Williams active but missing 10. 9-10 great counters, clear 11. 9-10 clear, good round for Martinez 12. 9-10 cleaner shots 113-113 Draw Lederman 115-113 114-114, 115-113, 119-110
I think I had it 2 points to Williams. Not a robbery at all. Could have went either way. I'm gonna assume Hozumi's Hook will come in and start crying though.
I don't remember but I had Williams barely winning. Martinez did more damage and did better in the rounds that he won but Williams won more rounds.
I'm pretty sure you can't score the first 9-8, it should be 10-9 Martinez. Not that it changes the result, it would just be 114-114. I had it 115-113 PW the first time. Martinez winning his rounds a little clearer, but PW digging out the clincher rounds. I thought he worked harder and just shaded it, but a draw would prob have been the fairest of all!
I keep score on whatever scraps of paper happen to be laying around, and I don't save them. I had Williams by 2 points. Martinez jumped out to an early lead, and had some nice rounds, but PDub simply won more rounds, and that is how you win decisions. I do not think there would be so much controversey if we hadn't seen that ridiculous 119-110 score card.
Funny i only watched this again last week I had Williams winning the fight by 3 I broke the fight down as follows : Martinez immediatley found his rythm and was beating Williams to the punch consistently without taking any damage in the first 3 rounds , he was finding a great home for that rear hand and Williams was getting countered on the way in . Middle rounds , Williams made the necessary adjustments and Martinez didnt look to have a plan B , what ever was working for Martinez early on was now not :deal and Williams looked to become more active than he had been , he was out working Martinez just , and seemed to be landing the more significant shots too . Last 3 rounds , this for me was where Williams won the fight , by now IMO he was well on top of Martinez and while Martinez was looking strong in flashes , they were not enough to stop Williams taking most of the later rounds . Great fight , but i beleive Williams was a clear winner , usual **** on the judges cards 119 - 110 :?atsch:|:barffire gang of ****s . But yeah thats how i seen it ................ Cant see a rematch going any other way either TBH ............
