The deal was Norton out landed Ali in most rounds and won 9-6 or 8-6-1.

If you use the punch stats, Norton won unless your one of Oscar's Judges. There were no knockdowns and no one was hurt.

Norton clearly won rounds 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12 and 14.

He also won round 10 as he out landed Ali ( 14 to 11 in total punches landed ) , and out landed Ali him in power punches 10-5.

So right there you have 8 rounds for Norton. And plenty of close rounds to judge.

I gave it to Ali 8/7 close fight imo.

• Judge: Harold Lederman 7-8
• Judge: Barney Smith 7-8

And most of the international press at ringside gave it to Ali.

For me it hangs on the last round, which also is hard to score. So for all intents and purposes a draw really.

Show me ten solid punches Ali landed that night, via video or stills. It can't be done.

I just don't see a close fight here. I might not classify it as a robbery, but I just can't see how this fight can be scored for Ali, I honestly can't.

Its a robbery. Norton won it. You can argue 8-7 for Norton if you give the very close round to Ali.

The bottom line is this was the rubber match between the two, and Ali was gifted the win.

Norton 9-6 or 8-7. That's the only 'controversial' Ali fight I've definitely scored for his opponent.

Had Ali winning all 3 fights, the 1st & 3rd being very close with the second being 8 rounds to 4 Ali. Norton gave away the fight in the 15th by doing practically nothing until the last 30 seconds or so.
