I agree. Besides Mosley said after the fight that Cotto beat him. It was a close but clear victory for Cotto.
7-5 cotto. it was a competitive fight but cotto won fair and square even mosley admits it so let the past in the past and lets look at the present and future already
Maybe? J/k man. Shane needed to start putting on pressure way sooner than he did. I would love to see a rematch with Nazim in his corner.
At the time I scored it for Cotto, but I watched it again closely fairly recently and had Mosley winning. Sound on it's Cotto. Sound off it's Mosley.
This was my scorecard when I first watched the fight. To be honest, I was kinda rooting for Mosley in that fight, it was the bout that got me to say "ok, this guy is good" about Cotto and finally turned me into a big fan of his. Cotto-Mosley R1: 10-9 R2: 10-9 R3: 9-10 R4: 10-9 R5: 10-9 R6: 10-9 R7: 9-10 R8: 10-9 R9: 9-10 R10: 9-10 R11: 10-9 R12: 9-10 TOTAL: 115-113 Cotto
I copied and pasted this from an old thread of mines but here's mt round by round scorecard....... Round 1)Cotto. Miguel is starting off fast landing more while Shane seems alittle stiff/tight in there even his pops says so after the round. Round 2)Mosley. Shane seems more relaxed getting his some shots in not letting Cotto go to the body by holding him when he gets close. Round 3)Mosley. Shane wins this round easy, and one point his Cotto with a hard punch right on the ear. Round 4)Cotto. Miguel is getting comfortable going to the body sparatically and lands some neck snapping shots on Mosley. Round 5)Cotto. Sloppy round to say the least, but Cotto lands a couple of combos in the course of the round to win it. Round 6)Cotto. Miguel round easily, his jab is effective and he is counter punching very well. Round 7)Cotto. Miguel jab still effective and he is landing his overhand rights. Round 8 ) Cotto. Same story as round 7. Round 9)Cotto. Miguel comes out strong still being effective, at the 1:15 mark of the round Mosley lands a left shot but does'nt follow up then at the 20 second mark of the round Mosley lands a right hand but again does'nt follow up, that's why I gave this round to Cotto he controlled pretty much this whole round. Round 10)Mosley. Shane best round he manages to put Cotto on the ropes and land a couple of nice solid punches, Cotto makes a little late rally towards the very end of this round but it's not enough. Round 11)Cotto. Miguel is fighting off his backfoot countering Shane and lands a nice hard right punch at the 2:10 mark of the round, and Cotto jab seems to come back in play. Round 12)Mosley. Cotto seems content with backing up playing defense neither fighter is'nt hardly landing anything but Mosley is the aggressor in this round so you would have to give it to him. Score 116-112 Cotto.
