Quite simply, Roy Jones Jr is the colourful character and he is all mentally psyched up to give his best when most recognize he is a 5-to-1 or 4-to-1 underdog, so I wouldn't say he is all hype, he is psyching himself up to beat once again a man he already beat once... I believe that Hopkins is most relaxed and definitely has the mental drive to be effective from this moment on. Bernard was not definitely uneasy and he has no reason to scare Jones more than he already did.

 

I think Hopkins looks all business in this, it's either that or he's nervous. You could probably see why Hopkins would be serious leading up to this bout, wanting to revenge his loss and all...but these two must be the only ones taking this bout seriously...way to long after the first bout.

The thing is, though, Hops has that kind of face that no matter what expression he makes or what happens (like what happened there, RJJ pushing him back an yelling in his face etc) it is hard for him to come off as intimidated. Whether he's shitting his pants or fully confident, he has that thugish, mean, tough face and he'll come across as a bully and the one dominating.

If you put someone who looks like Harry Potter in there he's gonna look scared because that's the personality you ascribe to him based on how he looks. Whether he's shitting his pants or thinking "man, I'm gonna hurt this guy soo bad", he's gonna look scared, because you think that's the kind of guy he is and that's what his appearance suggests.

It looked to me like he knew he couldn't match Jones' big mouth and quick wit and even if he could he couldn't because whatever he said the crowd was gonna boo and cheer whatever RJJ said.
