Hopkins was stayin quiet, just letting roy chat all the **** he wanted but telling himself that he'll shut him up inside the ring and get the job done.

I think that's exactly the case. He wants people to think RJ has a great chance and that he's unsure of himself.

Hopkins has more to lose in this fight than Roy does. Roy has nothing to lose, people are expecting him to get KTFO.

Didn't vote. The options were stupid.

Mentally, Hopkins is unbreakable. No chance in hell did any of Roy's bouncing and trash talking faze him.

:good Best f***ing quote for this post. Nard has never looked like this at any weigh-in I've seen. Jones himself has given the "battle plan" for BHop. Ruff'em up and hit'em in the back of the head. Everyone knows that Hopkins CAN'T outbox RJJ, so he's gonna try to follow the gameplans of the other RJJ conquerors. Volume punches and force him to the ropes and hope to land the bomb. Green was the only RECENT RJJ opponent to accomplish this ( questionably & I don't want to debate that right now). Lacy tried and got the beating of his life. If that RJJ shows up tonight, the ONLY chance BHop has, is a "LUCKY" punch. If that happens, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong, but if it does not... Tell you all what, you bring the picnic blanket, and I'll bring "all the crow you can eat". :bbb

Hopkins just knows that everything has already been said and he has nothing more to say. He's just ready to fight.

I didn't sense an ounce of fear from him.

Bernard can talk **** to everyone else but not Roy. Roy put him in his place since way back in the days, he's too fast for him verbally. Hopkins still has flash backs of Roy's skills and speed even after all this time.

Hops certainly didn't look very confident. Not that it means too much come fight time but it may. Roy may have an edge here

Hopkins normally never shuts the **** up, but now he froze on the mic. That's not because he thinks "everything has been said ", yep, everything has been said but Hopkins is such an immense **** talker that he will always say everything again. That's what he has done in everyone of his previous fights, press conferences, weigh-ins etc. And he had real trouble looking Jones in the eyes, trouble saying anything back at Roys **** talking... No way he did that trying to be "above" Jones, Hopkins is the ultimate *******, and has always more than acted the part in these face-to-face scenes before a fight.

That doesnt mean Jones will win, he is as shot to shits as anyone can be.

What are you basing this on?

A question for everyone: Did hops ever show his toughness in the ring?

I've frequently heard how he's never taken a beating so I guess not.

If that's the case than the post I quoted above confirms what I wrote about Hops that the way he looks (and what we know about him - jail, streets of Philly and all that) suggest toughness. You can see the poster above say he's tough based on no actual displays of toughenss.

Uncle Ricco, this is no insult to you, it's just the way we (people) think. We're programed to make character inferences based on how people look and how they behave.

It seems very clear to me that Hopkins is focused, ready, and 100% serious.... and i think to him, any words or effects he adds would water down his mentality. I see this as him meaning 100% buisness and him staying in the zone 100%. Nothing more nothing less.

It wasn't words, it was the mannerisms and overall lack of confidence bernard portrayed face to face with Jones. He wanted nothing to do with the face to face confrontation. Will it carry over in the ring? It could and obviously that's not good for hops.
