The boxing film with Wesley Snipes and Ving Rhames in 2002 .I liked it . It’s not as awful as the movie critics make it out to be. There are some memorable lines and memorable performances in the film. Your thoughts?
Entertaining if you dont put too much thought into it. Full of the usual Hollywood cliches..let me edit in that Ving Rhames is a kool cat. Same can't be said for Snipes though lol
I havent seen Undisputed but I have seen Undisputed 3. I started it fully expecting to skim through the movie and watch the fight scenes with mild interest. Turned out to be a really good movie (for what it is).
Pretty good film, though Snipes vs Rhames in some ways hard to believe unless it's a martial arts flick.
Obviously the Peter Faulk character is right. Joe Louis is the greatest ever! Some posters here, would do well to listen to the observations about different rule sets, from different eras. The script writer grasped, what some here have failed to! This is one boxing flick, where the script writers had a realistic idea, about what a world class heavyweight could do to a civilian, even a big guy who knew how to fight! The premise of a prison fighter being able to beat a world champion, is somewhat implausible, but I can play with it!
I heard that the movie was based on a rumored but unproven boxing match Mike Tyson had with some prison champion. Also Sonny Liston was the heavyweight boxing champion at the prison he was incarcerated at in the early 50s.
