Agree on that , but in my oppinion, there was something in that water, first the things that Panama said in the corner and the way Pryor fought after drinking from it made me beleive that. Anyway i think Pryor is a great fighter and hope Panama will die in great pain.

Only water is allowed in the corner, why the hell would he need to ask for a black bottle he "mixed" if it's water?

Whatever it is, they had a rematch and Pryor still won so that ends it though the possibility of Arguello being ruined after the first fight is logical.

Seriously man, you've got me thinking about what Panama did over and over again. I don't know what the hell people like him are thinking (or not thinking) when they do things like that. He should be ****ing hanged.

Emergency asthma attacks are normally treated with inhaled drugs, which you would all know as an inhaler.

These drugs are known as short acting beta-antagonists. They essentially force vasodilation of the lung capillaries in order to immediately increase oxygen intake. The most powerful of these drugs can take effect in less than 3 minutes.

I know it wasnt albuterol, that takes at least ten minutes. He would have needed to use something that works super fast.

    Theophylline, Pirbuterol......

NO, it has to be Fenoterol. It was an asthma medication ingredient used to treat acute attacks, but it was pulled from the market after it led to a number of deaths, caused irregular heartbeats, cardiac arrest, it was simply too powerful.

You could have gotten it from any shady pharmacist.

Definately agreed. The way it looks, interests outside the sport, criminal and gambling interests, is what seems to be the driving force behind this type of crap. Dirty money. There's no telling how much cash people like Panama Lewis collect from alleged "cocaine traffickers" for services rendered.

    Excellent stuff, MJ.

And how can such a drug help a fighter in the ring? Give him more energy for a short period of time, or something like that?

It will give an energy boost, but its not a stimulant, making it fairly undetectable. Allow me to explain

A short acting beta-antagonist like the one I described, it is used to treat an acute/emergency asthma attack.

An asthma attack is when the capillaries of the lungs contract to the point of severly reducing lung capacity.

Basic=Your lungs are not getting enough oxygen into your blood.

So what happens when you take a these drugs, they vasodilate your pulmonary capillaries, meaning literally force your lungs to expand.

For an athlete that is extremely winded, their lungs would be tired, not fully expanded due to the energy expenditure of fighting 13 hard rounds.

If they take this drug, their lungs are within a minute or so forced open and expanded to full capacity.

Not only that, but with a drug such as Fenoterol, the heart race rapidly increases.

So if a boxer is wheezing and tired when he goes to the stool, and drinks around 500 mg dose in a bottle of water, he is within around a minute and 30 suddenly going to get a "second wind"/

He will be breathing as easy as he was in the early rounds, plus his heart rate will be increased.

His body, in reaction to the increased heart rate and oxygen intake, will essentially go into overdrive mode.

The energy boost he gets will be unnatural, and his body's response will be to go into a sprint mode to burn off this energy.

In a fatigue state, the body is at increased risk for injury. Therefore a rapid energy increase leads to overdrive, in which the excess energy must be burned off, otherwise the elevated metabolic functions combined with fatigue can lead to cardio vascular problems.

When Pyror drank that bottle, he was exhausted. But within a minute or so, he would have been breathing better, and his heart rate would have skyrocketed.

Being a fighter, he would have gone off in WAR mode, just unloading pucnhes until punching himself out, that would have been his body's conditioned response to an metabolic rush.

MJ, you should post this in the classic forum too. People have been discussing this but nobody could explain very well or think what could have been the medication Pryor took.....
