This guy has been calling fights forever. Is he good? Too bias? I think he's pretty fair most of the time.
The whole Showtime crew look creepy as hell, Brian Kenny and his cold dead serial killer eyes, Paulie with his twinkle and Mauro with his cold weird local anchorman eyes.
Creepy is dudes on the internet who scope out men on television who are barely ever even on camera and have detailed opinions about their looks. On topic, Al is one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet and no one I'd rather have doing play-by-play.
I'm not scoping anyone out, I look and make an assessment, you can tell a lot about looking into to someone's eyes, they're the window to the soul. You should try it sometime. You're probably one of those guys that would be shocked to find out the kid with the bat**** crazy eyes, that everyone in the neighborhood thinks is a stark raving loon is a serial killer. People should be a little more perceptive, its doesn't make you gay to annalyze people and their expressions to figure out if they're weirdos or not.
I got to meet him once. He used to be an amateur boxer in his day, so I give him much more respect. However the week after meeting him he let me down by rooting on a showtime fighter who got the decision, but to me clearly lost. The fight escapes me, I'll post again when I can remember. At the end of the day they are all company men, and really can't deviate to far out of the script.
I'm not surprised he boxed in his youth, I think he's from a bad area of Chicago. He's a pretty decent sized guy too. Much respect :bbb
