Not gonna happen. Goldenboy has too much money invested in canelo.

He was overconfident and banked on a ko, he got it but he didnt impress. He wouldnt do well with Martinez imo.

Alvarez could have done better vs the 10 guys that Garcia has fought. Obviously you know what you're looking at, but you gotta take into consideration WHO the opponent is. Looking spectacular against 10 guys with a combined record of 41-38 isn't much to base your conclusions on.

Interesting matchup actually. I'd watch that fight.

Canelo isnt ready for Cotto or a big name. He has a lot of mistakes to fix before that. He is still so young that he has the time. no need to hurry him.

Gomez never push Alvarez, neither did Rhodes or Hatton for that matter, and as a result I think he's under performed in those three fights. I'd like to see him fight Mayorga next, I know he'd be fired up for that fight.

Remember too, he's only 21 y.o., for someone that age he's pretty impressive with his accomplishments. I just hope GB hasn't screwed up his career by making him a star too early and stunt his development.

Cotto is pretty shot these days, I don't think he has a prayer vs Margarito, but I think Alvarez would stop Cotto early.

No one can really tell what Alvarez will blossom into. But as of RIGHT NOW, he isn't impressive at all. If he gets put in a big fight too soon he will be exposed.

Last sat he looked goofy and ineffective trying to shoulder roll, wasn't in command of the fight, and hardly threw anything back until he got a premature stoppage TKO.

Hopefully the Mexican tradition of record padding continues and Alvarez gets a lot more fights before he really steps up.

Alvarez did his job. It was a premature stoppage.

Alvarez won against Gomez as expected but his performance was not very impressive, I think he's slightly overhyped, but Gomez did not really put him through a test so maybe I have yet to see what this fighter can offer.
