Makabu is powerful but so slow. Canelo will outbox him at his back foot. I expect UD win.

I thought you were talking about Duran moving up and beating SRL.

Canelo beating the weakest belt holder isn't a risk unless you think Canelo can be knocked out which is very unlikely and he certainly wont lose a decision. ATG achievement? Please see above for a valid ATG achievement.

Unsurprised. Fits with all the rest of the corny, hollow "legacy" bull**** Canelo does. There were threads predicting something like this if I recall.

It's growing on me. A third champion in a row, an opponent who is absolutely a live dog, you can't ask for more however I don't expect too much excitement because Canelo is going to have to be very careful.

He has a good chin obviously, but no one is immortal. I maintain GGG had him on the brink in their first fight. One or two more combinations and he would have been down at least.

Even in this era of weight class hopping, a 5 division champ is pretty rare. If he had come up today there's no way they wouldn't have gotten him a belt at 147 too, maybe he'll call Jenny Craig after the fight and we'll see the Spence-Canelo matchup that was rumored last year.

Well Roy started at light middle and won a heavyweight trinket. You acting like he's the first to move up the weights. Read a history book on boxing you would be pretty suprised how many have done this without taking loads of gear to do it.

What are you smoking my friend? I think my post clearly states modern fighters are on the gear which is why I told you to read a history book on boxing. So you can learn about the old timers who diid it without peds. I mentioned Roy facetiously considering your favorite also looks like a super hero.
    Please learn reading comprehention. Thanks

The information is out there. The point being it's been done before many times with boxers moving up the difference with the older fighters half of which are after the 30's most of them fought at there natural weight of say 160 ot 170 lbs and still sparked out the heavyweights.
Winning a trinket of the weakest belt holder isn't that impressive if you think it is you need to educate yourself.

But Canelo isn't beating anyone noteworthy, Makabu is a bum, albiet still a challenge due to the size difference. John Ruiz and Samuel Peter weren't, and were much larger than Makabu. Even well past it Holyfield and Rahman absolutely batter him too.

That being said i wont criticize Canelo for doing this because he's fighting somebody much larger and he's moved up from light middleweight. I really just want Canelo to fight Beterbiev and Bivol. I dont understand why he's moving up to fight a nobody. But it'll be an interesting fight. Ill go ahead and watch it.

I like freak fights. Should be interesting how Makabu handles Ginger's counterpunching.

If Canelo wins I will admit he is as good as Tony Bellew.

There is nothing historical about fighting Makabu at 190. Its not even a division! No one gives a ****.
