One of my favourite all-time fighters. Yes he was dirty, but he knew every trick in the book and was a supreme ring general. Slick and very savvy defensively, iron chin, and under-rated power in that straight left hand of his.
Very underrated. Decent power, great chin, very good defence. He might be old now but I still think he has it in him to win a belt at 140. This is just a wild stab in the dark, but I think he may be one of your favourite fighters.
He was good, real good. One of my favs when he was coming up but couldnt quite reach the heights I thought he could..probably turned pro a bit late but he still had a very good career. Dont think he is underrated at all in a historical sense.
He's underrated by a lot of people today who are casual fans. Some rate Corrales higher, yet Joel took 2 out of 3 head to head. Casa was a master boxer in his prime and wasn't decisively beaten until that gift he got in the Santa Cruz fight.
I think Casamayor is somewhere inbetween 1/2 and 3/4 of the fighter Juan Manuel Marquez is, whatever that means to you.
