If Whyte enters the ring with a tight guard and can manage to catch Joshua with a hurtful shot in the early rounds then it will be an interesting fight. I really hope he can do something, pull something out of the bag to cause an upset but Joshua is just a monster at the moment.
In a way it's a bit like Kovalev vs Beterbiev - coming from the same background, amateur bouts and all. No one gets under Kovalev's skin in the ring, he's a foreigner who barely speaks English - there's no communicating with him. That's something Beterbiev can do, which makes that fight interesting. In this fight too, Whyte can get under Joshua's skin by saying stuff like "you selling drugs to Eddie now?" or whatever. There's a video on Youtube where Whyte says Joshua was selling drugs on the streets. I don't know, this can be very interesting.
I don't see where you see Whyte lasting that long based on his last fight and joshuas first round knock outs.
In his last fight Whyte knocked out a guy faster than Szpilka and Parker (another Joshua-esque prospect) did. If that fight shows anything it shows Whyte's solid. Joshua's first round KO's are irrelevant in this fight as none were as serious as Whyte.
Whyte looked terrible in comparison,he is clearly not on Aj's level if we are going by that fight,so im not sure why you are bringing up parker, who is not on AJ's level either.Knocking out someone faster really doent show anything, has little to do with AJ finishing the fight with whyte in within 3/4 rounds as ive predicted he will based on what I see.
Well I'm not saying Whyte will beat or last 12 rounds with Joshua. It's an exciting match up for the reasons I've stated before. This is the first fight I actually expect someone to be, at least for a while, competitive with Joshua. Who enjoys fights that end up with a knock out in 90 seconds? I certainly don't.
dw looked good...solid domestic fighter...didnt look terrible at all it is just that AJ is looking more like world class talent...his jab is **** though
I know hard punches when I see them, and took all but 30 seconds the first time watching Joshua in his second year as a pro and said he was the next big thing...not many guys are going to stand up to those punches...you will either k.o Joshua or hes going to k.o you and fast. This fight goes as long as Whytes chin can hold and he better have a good one,i don't see the skill level of him lasting long.
Sloppy at times and off balance,he has less power and speed...he looked terrible in the comparison .Aj arguably is the best fighter even untested that ive seen.
comparatively yes AJ looks superior but if DW can use the stick, AJ will have to work slightly harder for the win prospects always look like world champs until a weakness is exposed AJ got no jab
also AJ looks superior based on physical attributes but we dont yet know how smart of a fightervhe is
Like I've said before I'm more interested in the mental aspect of this match up. Joshua always comes in the ring with great confidence. That's how he throws his bombs so comfortably. He was a top fighter in the amateurs too, an olympic medalist, it's not like he was a bum who suddenly turned into a beast while turning pro. But when you watch the DW fight, you can see he's clueless in the ring, he's like a black David Price in there (who was too pretty hardcore in his day). If he leaves his confidence at home vs DW, things can get very hectic. That's what I'm interested to see, whether he'll be able to keep his cool or not. That's a very important aspect of boxing. Confidence.
at some point, power alone cant win fights. u have to out think your oppnonent if i were DW, keepp a high guard behind the long jab. dw also hasca long right hand, plus he is sturdy it can very well comedown to gameplan even though joshua has the physical advantage
Not sure how this is a big fight or why anyone is paying attention to Whyte. I've seen one or two of his fights. He's not that good, and Joshua should KO him easily. No idea why this is being hyped.
