it doesn't last 6 minutes , Minto was landing on Whyte. If you can get hit then Joshua puts your lights out. 2 rounds maximum.
Minto had to eat hard hurtful shots to land his own shots that that just bounced off Whtye. AJ isn't going to bull rush a guy he knows can knock his block off. Whyte is no Cornish and Minto was a better fighter than Gary Cornish.
It's going to be Joshua's most dangerous fight he will actually have an opponent who believes they can win and will be looking to mount some kind of offense at AJ. As mentioned before this isn't the amateurs. Back then both were novices but Whyte was older and had an extensive kick boxing career and even an MMA fight. He was the more experienced fighter back then. But since then AJ has had an extensive top flight amateur career while Whyte was forced out of amateur boxing and turned pro facing worse opposition than AJ was as a top amateur. AJ is now the one with the more experience. Whyte does have some big defensive flaws, he is easy to counter especially after throwing the right when he often over balances. But if he has a good enough chin or can get AJ's respect early he may make a fight out of it and take AJ further than he has been before. If he doesn't have the chin or the ability to make AJ take a step back he'll get overwhelmed like everyone else as he is too easy to hit.
This fight will be the chin test we have all being waiting for with AJ, when whyte connects, what will happen?????
I disagree with some of what you say here and agree with other bits. Watching the Parker fight with Minto, despite the fact it was 2 years ago and he hadn't developed his power or technique anywhere near where it is now - he still looked much better than Whyte against Minto despite taking longer to "seal the deal". Whyte looked like he was looking for a knock out, Parker looked like he was trying to outbox him (which worked). Minto looked to be the better boxer against Whyte, but at the end of the day was a cruiserweight who got his by a heavyweight who was throwing bombs. I wasn't sure previously, but now I'd pick Parker to beat Whyte fairly convincingly - and I give Joshua the edge over Parker but wouldn't bet on the fight, so naturally also consider a Joshua vs Whyte fight as a mismatch. I can't see a lot different to what has happened with previous Joshua fights, aside from the possibility of another round or two.
I think Whyte is being seriously underestimated. I do not care if it lasts a round or 12 and I do not care who wins, both British and I hope they both go n to do great things. Whyte will be coming to fight, has his own ambitions that go beyond AJ and really believes he can win and Whyte can punch. AJ might not be as aggressive as we have seen so far, I think he will show Whyte the respect he deserves. Whyte is very dangerous for AJ at this moment in time, also if AJ blows Whyte away like his other opponents then he should be given the credit he will deserve instead of people saying Whyte is a "bum".
Joshua looks more mentally stable of the two. If Whyte comes in hot headed, all AJ needs to do is keep distance, time him and then unload. Furthermore, fighting bums aside, AJs technique and variety of punches is far more versatile than Whyte's too. However, if it all becomes s****py and a brawl I pick Whyte.
Whyte looks pretty damn slow at times. That combined with his low left hand stance and his come forward style seems to be inviting a 1-2. AJ throws a good 1-2 and I can see Whyte walking into something powerful. Maybe he gets put on his ass in the first couple of rounds and then fights negative for a bit before AJ capitalizes again. AJ inside of 7.
