Straight up question about his boxing ability, not interested in who he's ducked/not ducked or what he has for breakfast. I've only seen a couple of his fights and will admit to not knowing that much about him. Anyone want to give a breakdown of his abilities, weak points, strong points etc ??
24 views and nobodies got an opinion on the guys boxing ability. Maybe i should have asked what flavour cheese he likes
well you cant say much . he hasnt fought anyone who could really compete with him. he fought andrade who he was beating the whole fight but then andrade did make a wild finish to that fight. if you wanna say anything about him is that after the andrade fight he could tire out and if you hit him on the chin mostly due to fatigue he will drop. but after that expierence bute handled andrade come forward attack with ease. maybe if froch brings the pressure he could make it intresting.
Good counter puncher. Mid range kind of guy. Good body puncher. Not bad defensively. Good power. Gets a lot of grief over the 1 fight vs Andrade. Seems to get better each time out.
His best assets: timing, accuracy, reflexes and speed (all kinds). He is also stronger than ever. I've seen Bute take some big punches from strong punchers without a problem so his chin is at least good. I know a lot of people think his stamina is not good but in fact it is the contrary. He always dominated the latter rounds, except against Andrade, who had at the time the best stamina of the division. Also, Bute as ill before that fight. Every other 12 rounds he was in, he was the stronger fighter at the end. Bute is a very disciplined fighter. He has a very good coach (maybe excellent) who always looks ahead. For example, Bute is already preparing for Ward for over a year. He fought 2 southpaws, worked on his inside game, etc. On the other side, he is sometimes too tensed and doesn't let his hands go. He follows the gameplan but maybe a bit too much (I don't know how he would react if the plan wouldn't work). He still has to improve his inside game, the roughing part. He has many short inside punches but Ward may clinch a lot against him. He likes to stay at mid range and use his reflexes to avoid punches. He doesn't block a lot, even if in his last fights, he began to do it a bit. What would happen against a fast opponent with his low guard? ? I don't know. He seems not to feel comfortable against southpaws. Consider this as a first draft from a Bute fan.
hes a great fighter who just hasnt gotten the same opportunity the rest of the division has Quick feet and hands, has a fight ending left to the body and a fight ending uppercut, vs Johnson he used a right hook that he should employ more often no signs of a glass jaw but did gas once vs Andrade a fight he nearly lost, but hasnt gassed since good but not great resume and deserves his chance for the big fight but they just are not coming his way
And don't believe everything you've heard about his chin. Haters will show you the Golovkin fight but in the end, he got up after that monster short and most of fighters would have stay down after getting hit like that. As for the first Andrade fight, it was simply exhaustion due to illness.
yeah his inside game could improve. if u want pick at him, hes all around balanced good at everything he jst needs to be tested which hes finally takin a test and its in sumones backyard props to him
Pretty Rock Solid tbh, I think he's one of the most underrated (and I hate to use the rating terms) fighter on ESB. Nobody gives him credit, ever.
Best SMW in the world and the most ducked top fighter in the division. Ducked Kessler in 2008 saying he wasn't ready for such a good fighter. Ducked by Kessler and Ward in 2011/2012. Ducked by Froch in the IBF eliminator in 2007. Froch refused $1m to fight Bute in Canada in 2011/2012 comming off a loss, bringing no belt to the table. Froch's biggest purse to date had been $0.6m against Ward in America. That says it all.:good
