For whats its worth it reminded me of Suarez's handball on the line against Ghana, Elite athletes will always look for any edge they can possibly get. They have the tiniest margin between success and failure .

If more fighters followed the rules to the letter we wouldnt have the situation like Mosely Pac where Shane wanted to tongue his arse every time he landed a shot. When the final bells tolls you have plenty of time to show respect or apologise. Until then fight.

If your not cheating , you're not competing.

Seriously, sometimes entering this site is like entering the ****ing Twilight Zone!

Let's do away with the rules completely! Then we can really see what everyone's made of :nut

Your grammar is appalling. Between your terrible writing and your complete ignorance about boxing, it might be best if you stop posting.

Haven't watched it from last night but should give it a watch back. The main thing that stuck out in my head was how awesome benny Ricardos hair was but that is for a different thread.

Mayweathers right hand was ridiculous, the worst thing about it was how he set it up. He was telegraphing the thing with the jab half the time holding it out and Ortiz still couldn't avoid it. Very poor from Ortiz in all departments he made it look like he was giving a good go of it but did nothing effectively. Mayweather knew he was a few levels ahead and it showed with his performance not the safety first fighter we all knew before but someone who looked like he could try anything and not get punished for it.

    On the KO:

Not much you can say about it, Ortiz pulled a dirty move with the head butt no matter what he says that was as blatant as they come. The ref said box on and although highly unsportsmanlike Mayweather had every right to do that. Cortez was an idiot though what was he doing during the KO.

Greb was only usually dirty if his opponent started it. They soon found out that to play that game with Greb was a really bad idea :yep

    My opinion.

The KO was legit, it wasn't moral, but it wasn't illegal and Floyd spotted a chance to end the fight early and did.

How did Floyd look? For a guy coming off a 15month lay off... Great... But he didn't look as good as he did when he returned to fight JMM. Maybe he didn't take Ortiz as a serious threat? Nobody know's but i don't think he did. Anybody with half an ounce of sense knew exactly Ortiz was way out of his depth if a 50% on-the-ball Floyd turned up.

Does last night's showing make him easier for Pacquiao?

I doubt it, Fair enough he was making his straight right obvious but i think Ortiz looked useless for the same reason Mosley, JMM, etc did... It's alright saying "this is how we beat Floyd" but when you get in the ring with him it's a whole different ball game.

Let's not also forget Manny looked a lot slower in his last fight against Mosley, his workrate was a lot lower too (whatever it was down to i don't know but it was). When Manny picked up the pace against Mosley, Shane looked worried but Pacquiao couldn't keep it up like he did against Margarito.

In my opinion you can't use last night's fight as a measuring stick to how Floyd would of prepared for Manny because Ortiz isn't Manny, but we have no other measuring stick so that's all we can use.

We can use Manny's performance against JMM as a measuring stick to how he'd prepare for Floyd though, JMM is a huge rival, a counterpuncher and it's personal.

I'll be waiting impatiently for Pacquiao v JMM so i can judge

    Well my thoughts are

    A) ortiz is really stupid for standing defenceless infront of the most accurate boxer in the world just 20 seconds after blatantly headbutting him, especially after cortez had said clearly "let's go"

    B) i'm pretty sure floyd will be the main line favourite if he ever makes the fight with pac after his performance against ortiz.

    C) I really hope floyd fights one of khan, berto, cotto, alvarez or pacman next.

    Why Berto?

That's not one that interests me at all.

I'm only intrested in Pacquiao or Martinez.

    Berto is pointless.

When he beat's Khan, it'll do nothing for his legacy as everybody know's what'll happen if Khan get's in the ring with Floyd.

Alvarez, while this could be intresting simply because of the weight/size disadvantage Floyd would be up against, i believe he'd beat Alvarez and if/when he does, he'll be accused of picking on a kid/growing fighter

Can't believe Pac is being mentioned alongside Berto, Khan and Canelo.

Manny could probably beat all of them on the same night if he was motivated enough. No, I'm serious.
