I mean, I love my technicians. I absolutely love watching Gushiken and Whitaker but there's something about Louis, strikes a chord in my heart when I watch him. Those punches are so short, yet so powerful, it is pretty ridiculous and hard to believe even when watching it.

I find it absolutely hilarious that people think Wlad would be too much for Joe Louis. I don't even think Louis is a terrible style match up for him (that would be Joe Frazier), but there's just no doubt in my mind as to the outcome of the fight. The argument for Wlad is totally based on size, and I think it's funny. Really funny. Let's all laugh.

He's number 2 for me, Joe Louis's combinations are pretty much as perfect as it gets, but for me number 1 best combination puncher ever goes to my main man

Sugar landed those sneaky right hands to the body all night against Jake. He must have been sore in the morning.

how can I argue when you're pulling out the absolute trump card of all trump cards. I think purely in terms of composite punching you can claim Louis as the best. But if you're going to put spins on it such as 'combination punching' etc I won't oppose you. Robinson is goat on film.

In fact I'm just watching that footage and yes, I do think Joe Louis is the greatest composite puncher (or just puncher actually) ever.

    fact.

Robinson had more interesting stuff, some more "art" to it i guess. Triple hooks from either side and every punch in the book. But Louis. Man. He could put them together with no flash. Just as much as he needed to. Perfect economy resulting in total devastation. Watching Robinson is like watching Jazz. Watching Joe Louis.... Is like Beethoven with 4 ounce gloves on nahhmean.

    i'd rather not.

I've been asked before who would be the most horrible person to fight in history, and I always said Ray Robinson, he may be fancy, but he was absolutely ruthless.
