Thanks a lot! Something can be changed, what I did over the years, like Tyson out of the top 5 (Hearns and Galaxy can be switch places also among others).

Also Sanchez and Leonard are close (but the later one might be until 1980 more impressive than the other). Just as was I really undecided if I rate Gomez or Fenech in the top 10.
My places 15 to 20 can be partly interchanged as well (though Duran ought to be not higher than 18).

    1. Sugar Ray Leonard
    2. Marvelous Marvin Hagler
    3. Thomas Hearns
    4. Salvador Sanchez
    5. Michael Spinks

Feels right for the top 5. Order can be debated.

    Chavez
    Duran
    Nelson
Feel like they belong. Tempted to say Arguello & Gomez too, but a lot of their best is in the 70s. Holmes, Pryor, Holyfield, Fenech, Tyson, Pedroza, Chang are vying for the last couple of spots.

    Spinks and Tucker I assume.

Arguello can be in my list too, like Duran around 20 (not sure if Chacon had his peak maybe already until 1980).

The lighter guys tend to get ignored way too much.

Hagler has to be either no. 1 or no. 2 - the best and most dominant champion of the era. How you feel about the Leonard fight is probably the biggest determiner in that position. Sugar Ray is the other one who could make the top spot - the best resumé of the era. Hearns and Spinks are battling it out for the no. 3 spot. I like Hearns but Spinks has a very strong argument. Wouldn’t argue it either way. Those are my top 4.

After that, I think it becomes a lot more subjective in order but names like Salvador Sanchez, Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson and numerous others are very worthy mentions.

All great mentions. I’d say Sanchez is outside the top 4 though, as great as he was. Spinks certainly did more than enough to be above him.

had to give props to Hector Camacho. Practically untouched throughout the entire decade, unbeaten throughout and winner of three world titles. considered to be the TRUE title holder in all three divisions

There can be also listed Orlando Canizales (I think his reign started already in 1987) and Brian Mitchel.
