I'm not really a big fan of the Heavyweight division, I prefer the mobility and speed of the little guys with their ability to put together frightening combination's, but that's not to say I completely disregard the division. I think some of the most exciting and compelling fights to ever take place in the ring have involved Heavyweight combatants. Here's my list. 1. Evander Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe I 2. Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier I 3. Riddick Bowe vs Andrew Golota II 4. Bert Cooper vs Michael Moorer 5. Larry Holmes vs Ken Norton 6. Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier III 7. Evander Holyfield vs Michael Dokes 8. Joe Frazier vs Jerry Quarry I 9. Donovan Ruddock vs Mike Tyson II 0. Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis Lists?
Absolutely. I think people tend to forget just how good the first fight was. It was incredible, every bit as good as the Thriller, only with Frazier being much more competitive and winning it. Watching Ali go down on the end of that left hook is a more dramatic moment than anything we saw in their third fight. I love both of their encounters, no arguments with those who disagree with me, but the FOTC was incredible.
thanks for the list - youtube is my best friend. glad vitali lewis is in there! the only one i saw live.
Charles-Louis Louis-Baer 1 Ali-Norton 2 Spinks-Ali 1 Foreman-Lyle Holyfield-Cooper Tua-Ibeabuchi Marciano-Charles 1 Holmes-Shavers 2 Bowe-Holyfield 3 Brewster Liakhovich Douglas-Tyson Ali-Shavers Ali-Foreman Holmes-weaver Marciano-Walcott
Yeah, I love it when those combinations put together those combinations which give rise to more combinations...
Frazier vs Quarry? Really? It was just one-sided ass beating, dunno how it was called fight of the year, must have been a shitty year for boxing. All Quarry did was winning the 1st round and quiting after Frazier beat the **** out of him , nothing special IMO. i Would replace it with lets say Brewster-Liakhovicz? Foreman-Lyle Or any Holyfield fight. Also no Tua-Ibeabuchi? Some say its the greatest thing ever.
