If I can have the initial left hook that caused the kayo, Don Curry over Milton McCrory was a bit special. As was Mike McCallum's over poor Don. There are so many but I do love a left hook. This has probably been done in another thread - fave left hook kayoes. I can't bring myself to include Jersey Joe Walcott over Ezzard Charles. Patterson - Johanson, Frazier - Ellis, Louis - Baer, Foster - Tiger, Foster - Quarry (albeit that was just too violent), Ali - Bonavena (again for the left hook that started it and also because Bonavena was so detestable.). Spinks - Pops Johnson and Sugar Ray Leonard - Green (see Foster - Quarry in both cases). Ruddock - Dokes, Morrison - Ruddock. Danny Williams' one-armed kayo of Mark Porter was dramatic. Sam Peter - Jeremy Williams and Michael Sprott - Audley Harrison have stayed with me. Tommy Hearns threw two hooks in the second round vs Duran that were the quickest punches I have ever seen (or not seen, in this case). If either had landed, I'm sure it would have been like Robinson - Fullmer because they were both utterly perfect punches except for the fact they both missed! Although not exclusively left hooks, I also love the knockouts of Mayorga by De la Hoya and Tito, but not for the right reasons.
I personally find this one among my most enjoyable. My sons used to chant Zumah when I watched this one, my wife does not enjoy boxing (but she likes Ricky Hatton) but she remembers this one This content is protected
You know one I always enjoy is Mark Wills vs Greg Page 2, Wills winds up a right hand. And hits Page with one of the hardest flushest punches you'll ever see. I might do best KOs in each weightclass for this thread in upcoming days.
I would like to nominate Evander Holyfield vs Buster Douglas….just because in 1990 …Buster Douglas’s face was everywhere you looked …for most of that year …It felt good to see him lying flat on his back
