ERIK MORALES v MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA I (2000) BOBBY CHACON v RAFAEL `BAZOOKA` LIMON IV (1982) MUHAMMAD ALI v JOE FRAZIER III (1975)
benn vs mclellan - a true war between two big hitters who would not back down and affected both a lot after the fight, even benn, although to a lesser extent of mclellan. ali vs foreman - not the greatest 'fight' but when foreman goes down, nothing else in boxing can recreate the feeling i have at that moment. leonard vs hearns - fight between two legends, leonard down on points produces the goods to stop hearns.
You can't wrong with any of them. Barrera vs Morales I is ridiclious. 12 of the most furious and frenetic rounds ever between two of the best Mexican fighters of all time. What more can you ask for?
I still don't get what it is about Gatti vs Ward I. Just seems tame after watching Barrera/Morales or any of the Vasquez/Marquez fights.
My top three favorite boxing events are different than my top three fights. Events Ali vs Frazier I Holmes vs Cooney Leonard vs Duran I Top fights Foreman vs Lyle Hearns vs Hagler Holyfield vs Tyson I (the most satisfying result of a fight that I have ever witnessed)
Absolutely. :good Margarito vs Cotto is a great fight because it was a fight of two halves. Anybody who says it was onesided are either haters or just don't know **** all about the sport. Cotto dominated, and I mean put on a Boxing exhibition for 5 of the opening 6 rounds. Even after the initial time he was hurt, rounds 8,9, and 10 were not blowouts by any means. I'm a big Margarito fan but I didn't have him ahead going into round 11. It was extremely close. Gatti vs Ward I suffers from being overhyped, but it's still a great fight. Not a Barrera/Morales I but it's great.
Its so hard but here we go... 1- Ali - Foreman 2- Leonard - Hearns I 3- Foreman - Lyle In the last few years 1- Taylor-Pavlik I 2- Pacman-Marquez II 3- Cotto-Margarito THE QUESTION IS--- Where have all the great HW fights gone? I really hope boxing takes a huge rebound in the HW division
"Se1fki11". Miguel Cotto was eventually broken down, but it's still important to remember that he was dominating the fight until Round 7. I think the rematch can be a different story if Miguel Cotto is prepared to run and clinch when Margarito comes inside. Only if. I wasn't addressing you personally when I said, "anybody who says it was onesided are either haters or just don't know **** all about the sport". The common theme on ESB, I've noticed, is to completely dismiss fighters who take a loss. After Mijares took his defeat to Darchinyan, he doesn't seem to exist in the General forum, and the same applies to Kelly Pavlik. It's easier for people to say "Cotto has no chance in a rematch, he was broken down, he was destroyed". Miguel should be proud of his effort, and his main priority should be to get back to winning ways, not to prove the keyboard warriors wrong, but to vindicate himself.
