What basis do you have ranking JMM so highly when he "lost" his last fight against Pacquaio?

In my view, either you've got to punish Pacquaio for "losing" or punish JMM for "losing" in which case, whoever you punish slips.

    My Top 5

    1. Mayweather
    2. Calzaghe
    3. Pacquaio
    4. Cotto
    5. JMM

The first one. But Mayweather comes very close to losing his #1 P4P if he doesn't fight a worth contender soon, Cotto for example. :D

Cotto could also push Calzaghe down to #4 if he beats Margarito convincly.

Pacman would obviously fall down from #2 if he loses to David Diaz, although it won't happen.

    1. Floyd Mayweather Jr

I think he should have already fought both Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto, but he has defeated all of his opponents and never looked really troubled. I have him at #1 on that basis. He needs to defeat Miguel Cotto or another prime welterweight contender to cement this position.

    2. Joe Calzaghe

Established himself as the greatest Super Middleweight of all time, and just defeated the man at Light Heavyweight. Two division champion, and is still undefeated in a career that spans a decade. If he defeats Kelly Pavlik at Middleweight, I'll have a strong case to make him #1.

    3. Juan Manuel Marquez

I now have him defeating Manny Pacquiao twice. On that basis alone, he should be as high as three considering how dominant and impressive Manny was before his two defeats.

I watch fights and then base a fighter's abilities on their in-ring performances. Both Pacquiao and JMM fought an amazing fight. The kind of fight where you look at it in slow motion and think "I can't believe they're able to do that". Watch Vasquez vs Rafa Marquez, another close fight, and then watch Pacquiao vs JMM, and you will see how wide the gap in ability is. You don't necessarily HAVE to drop someone because of a loss. I thought Marquez showed in his defeat to Pacquiao that he was better than the first time around, and definately much better in that fight than in his win against Barrera. I also thought Pacquiao was better against JMM in the rematch than in the first JMM fight, though i scored both fights for Pacquiao by 1 point.

I base my judgement on watching the fights, not only the results.

Well, my unbiased list would be something like this..

    01. Floyd Mayweather
    02. Manny Pacquiao
    03. Joe Calzaghe
    04. Miguel Cotto
    05. Juan Marquez

Now my biased list, based on Mayweather babysitting and not fighting unless its a rematch with DLH while Cotto is defeating all the top fighters in the division..

    01. Manny Pacquiao
    02. Joe Calzaghe
    03. Miguel Cotto
    04. Floyd Mayweather
    05. Juan Marquez

I pretty much assume people are gonna' talk **** about these rankings, but hey.. At least I gave you my unbiased rankings as well..
