Marciano- Great stamina T Hearns- best left jab ever Chavez- Great allround fighter Foreman- Comeback and superb punching power Tyson- Best ever
Ali and McCallum. After that I don't have any clear favorites. Perhaps Sanchez, since he was as bad ass as he was cool elegance. Kalambay for being pure elegance. And I really like to watch Toney, so perhaps he'll be number 5.
I like fighters who have great skill and speed, and walk thru the fire to win their fights, R.Robinson,Ali,Leonard, Holmes,Duran,Arguello, all had signature wins against ATG competition, when that ATG competition was at or close to their primes. Men that showed tremendous heart as well as skills.
One of the most brutal Heavyweights of all time . Sonny The Big Bear Liston. The man was Extraordinary. We all know it .
Tommy Hearns: The size, the power, the intimidation, the accuracy, the technique, the speed, the explosiveness, the great bond with the trainer, willing to fight anyone, almost impossible to outbox, moved so many weight classes and beat a lot of good fighters. Pernell Whitaker: Mastered every little trick, a small southpaw that was arguably undefeated in his prime and i only pick a few to beat him in his top form, always fought the best at all the divisions he fought and had the great amateur pedigree. Michael Nunn: One of the biggest wastes of talent in boxing, so effortlessly, so fast, good power and great footwork, I've never seen a guy with his size advantage with such a great head movement, what could have been?.
I like them all...and study different all the time. Have to say fighters from the 80's mainly though. Started watching then...and it was a great era.
Will I? I'm not so sure. I like them both kind of childishly. I think Gonzalez will get broken and I don't really want to see it.
