No way, Foreman wa already comprehensively beaten by Holy by that stage, what were the bookies odds? I didn`t think the older Foreman was that good, I`m sure you`ll be pleased to here.
Ali was badly faded by the time he fought Spinks, it was only a matter of time, he was putting in one bad performance after a another by that stage. Baer was nowhere near Tyson`s level.
AJ will never end up like Harrison, he would never have lost to anyone that beat Audley except maybe Wilder.
Ali was awful against Shavers and doctors found scars on his brain after the beating he took, he just couldn`t slip shots anymore and Foreman ws losing to Moorer, it wa the dramatic way the fight turned on it`s head that was the shock.
No order Dempsey vs tunney Braddock vs baer Spinx vs ali Ruiz vs joshua Ali vs foreman Honorable mention spinx vs holmes, ali vs liston, Foreman vs moore
Ali-Spinks 1 WAS a massive upset. Sure, Ali was slipping and was in "anyone but Norton" mode, but Spinks was a 7 fight novice who was selected precisely because he was thought to be an easy touch. I remember it very well, here in the UK the shock waves from this result were seismic, it was all over the papers for days.
AJ comes off as a likable guy and I hope he can come back. But one thing 43 years of watching this sport has taught me is that you never can tell. I'm far less susceptible to it now, but when I was younger I'd "fall in love" with fighters thinking I was watching a future ATG. The vast majority of them didn't pan out. Sorry to say, but if I had to bet today on whether AJ ends up an ATG or just another fighter who didn't live up to his early potential, I'd take the latter. Anthony Joshua has an uphill battle ahead of him. Even if he looks good in his next several fights, people will be questioning him for years. Only time will tell us how he ultimately does.
I'm not sure it gets more shocking or upsetting than AJ vs Ruiz when you see each of their physical dimensions... and how AJ went down four times. I think this is the biggest upset since David vs Goliath back in 1017BC I was there. Right after Jonathon was sworn into office.
I don't know about that, I (and a lot of other people) said well before the fight that Fury would school Wilder if he showed up in shape. He was still looking doughy at the weigh-in, and the day before the fight, in the predictions thread, I think I either downgraded my probability for Fury to 65% or slightly favored Wilder to knock him out. (I was going back and forth in my mind and don't remember which I ended up writing down.) In any case it definitely doesn't rate as a big upset for me, at least not in the sense of being totally unexpected.
