During this time, Jones wanted to fight Steve Collins. He wanted 7 million.

He tried to fight Frankie Liles. Liles turned down 1.5 million twice the amount he had ever made.

He tried to fight Dm. He wanted 50/50 and the fight to be in Germany.

He actually signed to fight Rocco, and rocco pulled out of the fight to file a lawsuit because they wouldn't call him the champion.

He tried to get a rematch with hopkins. Hopkins wouldn't move up and wanted a 50/50, eventhough he lost the first fight.

Nigle Benn wouldn't return his calls.

He did fight EVERYONE at Lt heavy and unified the title, except for the WBO strap which wouldn't leave Germany under universum orders.

Some times he was stuck fighting Richard Fraziers......

    Excellent post:good

Most people that talk **** about Jones don't know the actual facts, they just repeat what they hear from other idiots.

Curiously, Roy Jones is the most important fighter from the 1990s. Calzaghe is a very notable fighter from the current decade, and Mayweather and Hopkins are Top3 in the last 15 years.

Four of the five fighters you have listed are on the top of their generations. You must dislike greatness.

    WRONG.

The WBC tried to lowball Rocchigiani and cater their all-american darling Jones by stripping Rocchigiani for no reason at all when Jones decided to return to LHW. Then they were ordered to have a fight between Jones and Rocchigiani which the WBC again called off because Rocchigiani wouldn't fly from Berlin to the US in the middle of his training to attend some sponsor press meeting but wanted to attend just via video conference. The fight was reordered by Muhammad again, and again, they found a way to call the fight off for no apparent reason. That is why the WBC in the end was SENTENCED to pay 30 million dollar in compensation to Rocchigiani.

Jones tried to have the WBC steal a belt for him without having to fight Rocchigiani, who was the right title holder after Jones vacated and Rocchigiani beat Nunn for the title. He almost made the WBC go bankrupt with his diva behaviour.

LOL thats funny, good point though. Add to that the treatment poor old martinez has got in recent fights, with things like ward trying to get 3 cali officials for a fight in californian then allowed to run riot with his head, yeah its a fair place alrite ;)

So what happens when Floyd beats both Mosley and Pacquiao this year?

Remember they said Floyd ducked Baldomir, Hatton, Judah, Mosley and Pacquiao.
Then he beat 3, and is going to beat the other 2 (who both ducked Floyd). A top fighter can only fight 2 or 3 times a year max. You can't say he ducks everyone with fists.

Who said he ducked Baldomir and Hatton ??? He ducked a guy like Mosley who was a household name for years and natural at his division, while picking fights with lesser and lighter fighters, and old guys like Hoya who had slowed down and ballooned up enough to be a safe bet to beat them. Then claiming he is the greatest since sliced bread. Publically accusing a guy of juicing BEFORE "negotiating" with him is also a 100% foolproof way of openly avoiding a fight without looking too bad. That IS ducking while trying to kick of the guy from #1 position without fighting, typical ***** move by the diva.

For Roy Jones, it was more a case of doing as little as possible to secure his position and income, taking only the "fun" fights, than really avoiding certain fighters. Possibly understandable, given the olympic games debacle.

Rocco pulled out of the fight

    FACT

Jones never vacated the WBC belt, nor fought at heavyweight at that time

    FACT

Rocco never beat Jones for the WBC belt.

    FACT

Roy Jones will be rembered 50 years from now, Rocco won't.

Mind telling me who was the guy at 154? that's right it was De La Hoya. Mayweather called out Mosley twice, and Mosley backed down twice, Hatton and Cotto didn't want anything to do with him after his demolition of Arturo Gatti. And Pacquiao recently fled from a fight with him.

Everybody. Look at Mayweather interviews circa the Zab Judah fight.
