Not in regards to him being top 10 all time at LHW based on achievements at that weight (he'd have case, H2H under current rules and conditions), no. My only opinion that has shifted is, whereas I'd have made him 60/40 underdog vs Bivol before last night, he'd now be a 70/30 underdog, imo. He's 38. I'd have Beterviev of 5 years ago at least 50/50 against the Bivol of today.
It's really hard to settle on a top 10 because the division is so stacked.. in no order: Charles Greb Moore Tunney Loughran Conn Spinks Rosenbloom JHL Bivins/Maxim ? Where do you start criteria wise etc?
Honestly, every time a thread like this comes up I spitball a new list. You're right, it's incredible difficult to be sure about LHW, and it is incredibly deep. That top 3 is absolutely stunning, I'd swap Moore & Greb around but really, it's academic at that point. I don't think Maxim quite belongs in the top 10 though, I'd give his spot to Saad or maybe even Jack Delaney. I think this would be mine: #01: Ezzard Charles #02: Archie Moore #03: Harry Greb #04: Tommy Loughran #05: Gene Tunney #06: John Henry Lewis #07: Michael Spinks #08: Jimmy Bivins #09: Maxie Rosenbloon #10: Saad Muhammad Roy Jones Jr, Harold Johnson, Bob Foster, Jack Delaney, and Victor Galindez to finish off a top 15, I think.
It's a nightmare tryna come up with a list I'm happy with.. i think Greb, Charles & Moore are locked in as my top 3 tho.. much respect for having Tommy so high I'm a huge fan also.. ya i think you're probably right on Maxim.. I'll have a good think see if i can come up with one I'm settled on
