    Like this:

    1) Ali (1)
    2) Liston (3)
    3) Jeffries (6)
    4) Hollyfield (9)
    5) Frazier (7)
    6) Tyson (10)
    7) Holmes (8)
    8) Johnson (4)
    9) Louis (2)
    10) Lewis (5)

So I think Ali had the best chin out of the ATG top ten HW's, and Lewis the worst - incidently, I'm not one of these guys who says Lewis has a glass chin, just that he has the worst chin in this exalted group.

The number in brackets is where I have each fighter overall.

What do you think? And let's see yours...

    1) Marciano (5)
    2) Foreman (6)
    3) Tyson (10)
    4) Holyfield (9) As much will as chin.
    5) Ali (1) More will to finish than chin alone
    6) Holmes (4)
    7) Frazier (8)
    8) Louis (2)
    9) Lewis (7)
    10) Johnson (3) Hard to place, but stopped 5 times. Twice before peak, 3
times after peak (twice around the age of 50)

You forgot Chuck Wepner also drop Ali in a title fight. A Amazing body shot that had Ali gapping for air.

This was a thread about chins, not a will to win column. I think some fighters take punches better than other fighters, but still stop trying under circumstances that fighters with less chins will try to push through.

Tyson's kos were because of accumulation. His will to win, and focus is what kept him from doing better. Tyson ate some monster right hands from Lewis, and kept walking forward until the end. I have always thought his will to win was similar to Hector Camacho's. At times, they just start going through the motions when the fight heats up.

Ali was hurt a few times in his career. It was his will to win that carried him past the fog. Same can be said of Holyfield.

Michael Moorer is a fighter with a weak chin, and will to win when hurt. If you could hit hard enough to hurt Moorer, and not hard enough to finish him, you could have one hell of a fight on hands. Ask Bert Cooper about that.

Interesting, the standard is how often one is knocked out.

Oh wait, when it's Marciano, the standard is no longer how often one is knocked out.

But then again, when comparing Marciano to Ali, the new standard is comparing how often one is floored in title fights.

Good work selecting the right stats to suit your arguments. With your fact-filtering skills you would've definitly made it Stalin's favorite if you were born in Russia and became a journalist.:good

    Get some perspective, folks.[/quote]
