Not the ten best jabs ever, but the fighters who used it to its full potential at the highest level cut from the same cloth as say Larry Holmes.
Conteh Loughran Liston LaRocca Pedroza Canto Sanchez Arguello Cervantes DeLaHoya Chandler The best ever Monzon Robinson LaMotta Forrest
Thomas Hearns had also a great jab and Marvin Hagler had an interesting jab as southpaw and switch hitter.
I've never heard of a "gazelle jab", I was going to ask what it was but you beat me to it! I did hear a trainer telling his fighter to "kangaroo" one time and as far as I could tell he was wanting him to bend his knees.
Virgil Hill - made a career with basically just a jab and movement. Ike Quartey- powerful jab Winky Wright- ask Tito. Sweet Pea- watch vs Azuhma Nelson. Darius Michaleski- threwca very hard fast jab and often out jabbed boxers with longer reaches. Thomas Hearns- whip like jab. Ken Buchanan- one of the few boxers I've seen that TRIPLES up on the jab. Felix Strum- jab was nice and his main offensive weapon. Larry Holmes- the KING of all jabs to tbe extent he was what 50+ and used it to beat Butterbean. Lennox Lewis- good jab. Sonny Liston- ouch power jab. Pinklon Thomas- kinda like a Liston type jab. Ray Mercer- when he used it esp latter in his career. At times outjabbed Lennox Lewis in their bout.
Most great fighters had great jabs, it is almost a prerequisite of greatness. Most great fighters usually set up their offense off the jab. Holmes though is the only fighter I can think of whom may have been below average if he didn't have the best jab in heavyweight history.
