Hello. How are you? I am fine.

I was thinking there the other day about how every time someone starts a "your 12 favourite fighters" thread, someone always comes along on page 1 and lists twenty. And it's kind of a badge of honour. "Oh, i love boxing so much...listing 12 is too hard!" But that's the floodgates well and truly opened. Now everyone wants to list twenty. "Oh, it's too hard for me too."

But for the little bit it's worth, it actually ruins the threads. It stops people thinking critically about why they love the fighters they love when they're trying to be selective. If you can just name anyone you ever like at any stage of your life, you're not applying your learning or your care.

So in this thread only, I'm going to delete any posts that list more than twelve fighters. And we'll see how it goes and if it goes well. And if it does, maybe it's a thing i'll think about extending to other subjects, maybe with other posters involved in picking topics etc., and setting hard rules that cannot be broken for that thread only.

So that's it. List your twelve favourite fighters. List them any way you like, front to back, back to front, no order, but do not list more then twelve or your post will be deleted. No honourable mentions. Nothing other than your twelve. If you want to say why go into as much or as little detail as you like.

And if twelve really is too hard for you, don't post your list, though feel free to comment on other people's, of course. Expressing an interest in another poster's favourites won't count against anyone's post, of course.

    Unless it does haha.

Ten or twelve? You mention both here.

Not sure I have that many anyway.

    Twelve.

Ten's only mentioned in examples of the terrible abuses wrought upon threads like this one in the past.

But, as it's caused confusion i'll change it.

There are a lot of better fighters that didn’t make my list. but these are either personal favourites of mine because I admire the fighting style or just fighters I really know the most about. There are ones I really like the style of that I appreciate much more ...but I have not grown up with them and I have not studied them quite so extensively. The thread says favourite. So I stick to that.

I feel like my list is going to be used against me 5 years from now by someone who thinks I’m a terrible person.
