There is a BIG difference between, cheap, and cheating folks.

Trust me, I've watched Floyd fight over the years like most of you, and have seen it happen many times, when a fighter lets his guard down, and Floyd takes advantage. ****, Mayweather did the same **** to my favorite fighter of all time, Gatti, and though I was pissed, I really couldn't argue what he did too much.

Cheap or not, what Floyd did to Ortiz was legal. It is shitty the fight had to end that way, but Floyd saw an opening, and like a vet took advantage. Bernard Hopkins would've done the same ****, remember that for those that are fans of Hopkins, but not of Floyd anyway.

Merchant EVT4 Mayweather :lol: (on that note, you know damn well HBO wanted their interview to go that way, it gets people talking)

Personally I voted cheap, because I'd have liked to see what Mayweather would have done to the kid following that headbutt had the fight restarted. I get the feeling Victor was about to be destroyed.

But.. ultimately, I blame ****ing Cortez. He restarted the fight in the wrong way, wasn't watching the action and didn't separate out the fighters or return them to the middle of the ring, he lost control of the fight completely and Floyd just did what MANY other boxers have already said they'd do.

Make no mistake, that headbutt was a ***** move by Ortiz.

But Floyd taking that shot on Ortiz was definitely cheap. He didn't need to do it. He obviously had the advantage and was outclassing Ortiz. It was a disappointing end to the fight. Couldn't he had taken the high road?

Yea I agree, it was mostly annoying for me knowing Floyd was winning, as Ortiz had literally just showed his loss of composure, and I knew the moment it happened everyone would take everything away from Floyd that night.

I just hope to Floyd's next fight is with Pacquaio. Then he can ****ing retire for good already.

if it was bhop everyone would be saying..."oh that hopkins...that's why he is so good"

i wish it didn't end that way, but fighters need to realize they are in fights

2nd and last option, but I could only vote one and accidently voted blame Cortez, when if it all came down to it, I'd say the 2nd one.

    At first I blamed Floyd.

Then, after some thought I blamed Cortez.

Then, I watched round 4 a dozen times, and now I blame Ortiz.

Was Floyd cheap? Hell yes. It was disgraceful.

Was Cortez in lala land? Yes, he needs to give it up.

But, the fact is, Cortez called the action to resume. I don't think Ortiz as paying attention due to excitement. Floyd was paying complete attention and took advantage.

Ortiz is young. Live and learn. I'm sure he won't make that mistake again.

Unbiased view? Winning with a sucker punch when the other guys isn't looking, after the big debacle the ref stopped..waiting for a proper start? Floyd didn't break a rule at all, but he proved himself a cheapshot artist doing what he did.

Although I don't blame it all on Cortez, he deff could've been a little more proactive as the action started back up. But the simple fact Floyd landed a serious left set up punch, that didn't even make Ortiz look at him, made be blame Ortiz just as much. Well that and fact Ortiz just landed one of the most blatant headbutts I've ever seen on a live HBO ppv main event :yep

Punches were thrown and landed after Cortez instructed them to fight on and after he said time in. There should be no controversy other than why Ortiz had his guard down and resorted to headbutting.

Personally, I think he wanted out of that ring as soon as possible. Ortiz was getting beat up and wanted no more. Even with his headbutting, he was still getting beat down.

All this might be true, and yet, floyd won via suckerpunch. How Floyd won isn't up for debate. KO'd a guy with his hands down who wasn't set. ****in awesome!

cortez did not do a good job officiating. after a foul play like that he should have made sure no one retaliates, talk to the fighters to keep it clean, call in time, then clearly let the fight continue when he was both eyes on them.

ortiz was wrong in headbutting and should equally be criticized. ortiz was also wrong in dropping his hands.

floyd took a cheap shot as ortiz was clearly not looking, had his hands dropped and was submissive and apologetic. i'm sure if the headbutt caused a large cut that stopped the fight the spotlight would be on ortiz however it was floyd who took the cheap shot that stopped the fight.
