No cookie cutter lists, no Grebs or Armstrongs. What fighters do you have in your P4P Top 10 that usually you don't see in other people's lists. Whatever your criteria for P4P is - whether it's longevity, dominance, H2H or icy cold stare. Or maybe it's just some forgotten great McFarland-type of fighter.
I feature Archie Moore at around #9 for his unusual longevity despite numerous beatings, weight fluctuation, injuries and age. I think most people rate him with respect but most would object to him sitting that high up.
Since i think that most if not all of most if not all past's "greats"' records r a result of fixed fights , cheats , sparring sessions & Xhibitions listed as regular fights i think that this list can qualify as my new p4p top 10 : not necessarily ordered : 1. Mike McCallum 2. James Toney 3. Oliver McCall 4. David Tua Jorge Castro Reggie Johnson Orlin Norris Chris Byrd Steve Collins Salvador Sanchez Juan LaPorte these men and possibly others r Xtremely underrated . When i c McCallum ranked below such shrewd businessmen/hypejobs such as Jones , Leonard , Ali , Mayweather , Hopkins then i know how underrated even Mike McCallum is . Bert Cooper is so underrated with a KO over Orlin Norris and deserved in fact 2 stoppages over a reigning & defending Evan Fields and Michael Moorer . 2 fights in which torn / miswrapped gloves bought his opponents crucial recovery time . These 2 losses discouraged him and possibly caused some of his quits . I would have thought even higher of Nate Miller who stopped both Cooper & Norris if it wasn't 4 his low as gutter level of successful title defenses .
For a long time I had Alexis Arguello at 11. I also had Locche at twelve or thirteen. Right when I first got into boxing I had Hagler and Monzon in my top 10 p4p but that was AGES ago.
