His style? His career achievements? What did you like/dislike about him? Do you know any stories about him e.c.t? Supposedly he was a real legit tough guy?

Most boxers are 'legit' togh guys.

Australians seem to hate Fenech due to his post-career exploits (robbing jewellery and whatnot) but for me, as a British fight fan, totally neutral: one of the most mind blowing fighters I've ever seen.

Seen, for good reason of course, as an all out aggressor, he was a tidy operator before his hands fell to bits, a good punch picker with solid defence and a rock hard chin.

His win over Payakaroon is a violent drubbing of one of the most brilliant defensive specialists super bantam has seen (weight drained or not) and his first fight with Nelson truly awe-inspiring.

I'd say he's a greater fighter than Floyd Mayweather.

Payakaroon like Samart Payakaroon? He was a badass on muay thai. Precise and elusive. I knew he boxed but I had no idea he was actually good. (Ignore this)

No doubt he is a tough guy but also a bad ******* who has a hair trigger temper and a persecution complex that sees him take offense with people at the drop of a hat.

He's also an utter ***** who's fallen out with anyone who ever had his best interests at heart and helped with his career (Johnny Lewis,Bill Mordey) and even stooped as low as bashing his lifelong best mate ex fighter Peter Mitrevski over some triviality. He also ripped off Azumah Nelson over the proceeds of their 3rd fight apparently so there's yet another guy who dislikes him.

He wouldn't have many genuine mates left I wouldn't think apart from a few "colourful" identities that he likes to be seen around with.

Still he was an awesome fighter in his prime and a national hero at one point so if you can separate the man from the fighter,he deserves to be admired.

****in' right mate! Pintor was shot but Samart beat a former world champ' in his debut (Vorasingh) and toyed with the game puncher Juan Meza. He did alright. Fenech wasted him.

Fenech was a very good, but not great fighter. Many of his fights had good action. He was held back a bit by brittle hands.

Yeah he had problems with his hands for a very long time.......... He also went off the rails after Nelson 1 when he was robbed and undefeated at the time.

Bashed a green grocer, broken first marriage, accused of stealing, fell out with almost everyone.

He also attempted a rugby league career because he couldn't fight anymore.

Potentially he couldve been an all time great with good hands and a better attitude.

The hands held him back but he also had bad allergies and asthma which really affected his training at stages.

One thing about him though, for all his faults he was an absolute professionial when it came to training. Even when he was struggling with his allergies he never entered the ring (at least physically) at less than 100% fitness and I doubt if many boxers tortured themselves in training like Jeff.

He was a ****ing animal when it came to physical fitness and it was only by Nelson II that his mental focus began wavering.

Did Fenech have a brother that nn the 80's murdered some poor ******* and buried him in the chicken coop. I seem to remember reading about this once and only once, then it was never mentioned ever again (then again, I may have been drunk and simply dreamt it) :!:

I'd say he was great. Quality scalps from 118 to 130lbs.

I don't think he should be called a great. For a few years there he was within reach then after the first Nelson fight he let it slip away. A great fighter will react positively when faced with adversity and even earlier on he showed that maybe he just didn't have that extra bit that makes greats, great

Check out his behaviour after the Zarate fight. There was a lot of confusion before the decision was announced as the fight was stopped when Fenech was cut by a headbutt. Fenech thought he'd lost and Zarate was walking around with arms in the air thinkiing he'd won by TKO. Fenech walked towards Zarate aggressively and was a bee's dick away from thumping him. Zarate covered up against the ropes. At the time I thought it was just bad sportsmanship but in hindsight it said a lot more about the mental aspect of his makeup

Funny thing is, only a couple of years earlier against McCrory he almost killed himself to make 118, looked like being KO'd in the mid rounds yet he gutted out a great win in the 14th

I think he simply lost the fire and once a fighter such as Fenech loses the fire he's 50% of the fighter he once was

You're spot on mate and here's an article that goes into a bit of detail on it.

I vaguely remembered it too but I didn't know anything about the homosexual subplot to it and probably wish that I didn't.
