You boxing career stagnate if you name does not get out there and uour ranking dont raise. Win or loose when the time comes is mostly (in a perfect world) in the fighters hands.

you know what japan has a big boxing culture pretty easy ops and some guys who are well known domesticaly like crazy kim are good fighters but just havnt got the skills.and japanese love slickster i mean love them when i was there when i was around 6 years old, there was some guy who had a junior witter style low hands southpaw swith hitter who through barely ANY punches i remember that vividly
    anyways
if i were an african/(derogatory)"world" fighter i would go to japan. a black middlewieght who is native to japan would be a great attraction...not for being black more or less just being a foriegner who lives and fights out of a different country.

joppy got on of his biggest pay days of his career in japan, valero has/is camped there.

also you got to remember that not many naturally built japanese middlewieghts are around

I'd want to start my career as close to my home as posible to buld up a fan fallowing. My Gold Medal would atract the right comption for me to build my career. After about 10 fights that are "local" I would began to seek fights that are not in my own back yard. This would includ netural sites as well as fighting in my opoents home town when needed.
There isn't just one place I'd go.

I'd probably do something like Dunne, Lee and Duddy. Base myself in the states and build up a followng. This would get my name mentioned back home in Ireland, whereby i'd return after building up a healty record and then go for a European title shot while raking in money from selling out The Point in Dublin. After that, i'd mix between Ireland/Britain and America to maximise any popularity.

    :-(

Your cynicism is disheartening and unfair. This was supposed to be an open, true discussion...I wasn't trying to run an agenda...:-(
