    Straight punches .High guard.start simple.

    work on his jab and inside skills. He seems to have decent power. Get him a few tuneups against lesser guys and work on the body and jabbing and see if he can improve. He can still improve and be a better fighter. I don't see the loss to Groves as a big deal. Fighters lose..

    Well.... you definitely can learn fundamentals at 30 - it's a question of whether he can learn them fast enough and at that level. Probably not, on both counts.

    It's theoretically within reach that he focus on building his fundamentals for 12 months, with maybe three low key fights against weak opposition along the way, and emerge a different fighter.

    Likely. Not really. If that was something he was willing to do, he'd have done it already.
