You're in Pulev's camp for AJ fight. Your advice for Pulev?

It was a left hook that made Ustinov take a knee and then got waved out, or did you mean it in a less literal way?

 

I don't see much hope for Pulev, same as everybody else.

He's looking worse than before, so there's also that to worry about.

I'd tell him to sharpen up his cardio and jab and to try and disrupt AJ with that, and hope for AJ to tire out mid fight. If that happens, then pedal to the metal, throw the kitchen sink at him to try and get him outta there before he gets his second wind.

 

My advice to him would be to wave his arms around until the inevitable KTFO. Then moan about how he was winning in the post fight interview.

Seriously, there's nothing I could tell him that would help him survive longer than a couple of rounds. He's simply outgunned in every conceivable category. His best bet would probably be to try to emulate what he attempted to do in the Wlad fight, jump on Joshua from the off and try to prevent him establishing his rhythm. Trouble is, he was so badly beaten the last time that mentally it'd be a real struggle to go back there again. More likely he'll just try to play it safe and end up getting blitzkrieg once Joshua starts to time him.

Work the jab counter when have the chance clinch the hell out of aj and in the middle rounds when Joshua's tires and takes rest put it on him.

 

True, some Rocky inspired training together with Hughie could give him the edge.

Take it to Joshua as he did against Wlad, I think he fought a good fight and troubled Wlad sometimes. This will probably result in the same result as last time though, but I think it's his best chance.

Joshua have to much power to try to back up and guard, then he also will be unhindered to release his combinations and it is not really Pulevs style. No, be in front of him and try to box, jab and use the clinch when you can, and survive until Joshua tires and then try to get him out before he regains himself.

Risky gameplan that probably won't work out but at least gives him a shot at winning and not only surviving.

He's going to have to look for a McCall-Lewis type shot to stun the boxing world.

I think it's a case of survival, letting AJ unload, hoping he gets careless and catching him. However, I think AJ will be wary of throwing the kitchen sink and blowing out of his backside this time. I see nothing but Pulev suffering devastating knockout. Same for Ortiz.

 

I'd train for power and hope to land something big on Joshua early, make him second guess just rushing in on you at the very least but aim for that Randall Bailey style KO from nowhere.

 

Pulev can take A Punch, so it will be a prolonged beating. Wlad Hurt pulev with His atomic left(there He had still His Timing and Speed, AJ would have gone to sleep if wlads left Hook was still there in their fight)
Pulev has a great!!! Jab, is a tough sob and has a mean Streak but no power. IMO Joshua stops him late in a tougher than expected fight.

 

This. He turned down the fight twice knowing he would get more if he waited for mandatory.

 

I'd tell him to take a dive in the first and head to the bookmakers with the kids college funds.

 

Pulev has to up his game and give a career performance, put Joshua on the back foot and apply pressure. Double up his jab and keep a tight guard while popping shots and presenting a moving target. Possible this is all too much for Pulev but he is a tough guy. I would also try and create the angles on Joshua that Wlad did. Land on him and he does stiffen up but you have to throw lots of shots and take risks to create that situation.

 

Pulev just isn't that good at the top level. Pulev has better stamina and hand speed than Whyte, but lacks power and is very stiff.

Pulev's only chance is to make Joshua miss a lot and hope that he gasses and then go for the kill, but I don't think Pulev has the skill to do that. Pulev also needs to come in light so he has mobility.
