You're kidding yourself if you think Broner could steamroll Ricky Burns.

I think Broner would of won, but in the hardest fight of his life.
With the exception of JMM, nobody at SFW, or LW is capable of walking through Ricky Burns.

 

On my side of the pond Burns is an unknown quantity. He looks like a tough SOB from the few clips I've seen of him. Do you think he can pressure Broner into enough mistakes to take rounds or do you think he would need a KO to take it? Broner is a great talent but he is still young and you never know how he will respond to a pressure fighter that can take his shots. Which begs the question, can Burns walk through the blazing fast, very powerful shots that Broner brings? Broner appears to be much improved since the Ponce De Leon fight.

 

I'd love to see Burns humble him.

In all seriousness it would be a tough fight for Broner in a few ways.

Size wise, Burns is the bigger man i'd say, so thats a problem off the bat.

Burns is capiable of throwing fighters off their rythm, he also boxes a multitude of ways, he can lull you in like he did with katsidis by boxing off the back foot with a rangy jab, then swiftly move inside and rip you up close.

Broner is a real good fighter though and I like Ricky too, they should go their own ways as imo they are destined for different weights.

 

Burns is the bigger guy buddy, huge Super feather, still a big Lightweight. Broner has size himself, but he's the smaller man here.

Honestly, Broner has most if not all the physical advantages here, Burns has modest pop at best. What Ricky does have, is the ring craft to land, and the legs to open up offensive angles and provide himself with a method to take the sting out of Broners shots.

I think Broner lands the heavier shots and wins a comftorble UD across the pond, the only point I'd argue is that Burns is not an easy fight for anyone right now, he's very under-rated. IMO he did a better job on Katsidis than the Ghost did.
