Which mentality would you want to bring to the ring?

That of an undefeated boxer, who doesn't know how to lose.
Or, that of a boxer who knows how to lose, but is hungrier than ever...fighting without fear.

Which mentality do you believe would make you more dangerous, and more of a threat to a World Class opponent?

A Boxer that knows how to lose, but is hungrier than ever.

    Why?

Cos to be successful you need hunger.

Did you even read the post?

"Who" as in referring to another boxer is not mentioned once. "You"...however is.

That's exactly my point. If you got knocked out by a slugger in the first round, it has a whole different impact as when you were out-boxed for 10 rounds before getting stopped in the 11th, for example.

Well, seen as the thread is referring to "YOU"...choose one. :good

Id go with what Ortiz did. Every punch was thrown with emotion and to but Berto down.

So you would go for the latter?

It certainly offers the 'fighting without fear' factor. And I probably would say it has the edge over the, 'not knowing how to lose' mentality.

Alvarez-Rhodes kind of inspired this thread. Not every detail is exact.

But if you apply this thread subject to this bout, would it change your opinions?

Experienced boxer, has been around a while and has picked up plenty of tricks, has previously unsuccessfully challenged for a World title, hungrier than ever, no fear of losing.

    VS.

Undefeated boxer, young, has been around a while but still very much learning, only blip on the record is a draw, so again, has yet to taste defeat. However, looks like he can go on to fight at a much higher level.

    I'd personally go for:

A good fight to refer to when thinking about this, is Naseem vs Barrera. One guy was undefeated and completely ignorant to the idea of losing, whilst the other was someone who'd tasted defeat before and learned enough from his mistakes to realize he needed to make alterations.

And we all know what the result was there.

Good example. Naseem not so much fell in love with his undefeated record, he just thought he was somewhat unbeatable.
