    When approaching a subject like this I think it is very important to remember that many great champions had a handful of losses before they ever so much as smelled a title shot.

    On the other hand, there have been a substantial number of undefeated fighters who lost their first title fight, and were virtually never heard from again.

    There are lots of variables in play, and the whole subject really needs to be looked at on a case by case basis.

    if im gunning for my first and probably the only title fight, i don't care if i lose. what matters most is that i'll win.

    I would want 20-25 fights, having at the very worst fighting the best guy that I could beat and a few guys that I would not be favored to beat. Having the experance of being in over my head and knowing how to deal with it.
