Loved him. He always came and laid it on the line, throwing for massive hits, sucking it up for his misses, either vanquishing or going out on his shield. God Bless him.
The first thing that came to my mind when seeing Benn fight was, "This guy's kinda like a small Joe Frazier", so I think the comparison to the super fight definitely isn't unfounded. Obviously, their styles of fighting are very different, but when he'd load up on a hook, I just felt it.
"What's your dog's name?" "Dark Destroyer." "I don't think you should come around here anymore." "Ok, Ms. McClellan."
Hi Buddy. Fully agree with you regards him being a big puncher at MW, saying he had a " dodgy chin " is a little unfair, and not entirely accurate I would say, the loss to Watson was due to sheer exhaustion than any chin issues, then again Eubank outboxed and out hit him in their title fight, once again he was totally spent at the conclusion, the first Collins defeat was slightly unusual, in that he hurt his ankle, and could not continue, the second was him realising he wasn't going to win, and decided discretion is the better part of valour, and lest we forget he took some almighty punches from McClennen that would have probably KOd most MWs, same with Barkley , so on balance I would say his chin was a good one, but you are a seasoned poster whose opinions are valued at my house, so I give them the respect they warrant. stay safe matey, chat soon.
Cheers .dodgy wasn't probably fair .Benn had an explosive style that sometimes meant he got hurt in his attack. His power normally did the trick
I’m a bit biased as I prefer Michael Watson. However it has been said he was at his best when he was trained by Jimmy Tibbs.
