hes a good fighter, but he doesnt have the power to keep pac off of him. as u saw in the jmm fight, pac took jmm's best shots. what is timmy gonna do? nothing
Take it to him. Start wit left jabs, cutting the ring off to your left. Every time he throws a right jab, slip to your left, stepping in with a right hand counter. Back him up. Pac doesnt fight good backing up. Get him on the ropes and go to the body. He has been stopped by body shots before. If you hurt him, finish him. Pac is not a great power puncher. Just fast. Use triple jabs as well. When Pac hits you, come back with three or 4 punches immediately.
TB's best chance is to try his best to emulate JMM's game plan. Well timed counter punching and fighting fire w/ fire with calculated return. TB doesn't have the punch to keep off him though. Timmy seems at his best when his feet are planted, and he's throwing multiple punch combinations. Which, unfortunately, will play into Pac's game. Maybe a lucky KO punch catching Pac is more realistic. While I think TB will be game, especially early on, I don't see too much of what he can do to win.
I watched Pac/JMM again the other night. The defense in that fight by both guys doesn't seem to get much appreciation here. I mention that because Bradley will try and fight Pacquaio the way he always fights. That's who he is and it isn't going to change for this fight. Bradley will TRY and close the distance and Pac will be going in and out on him while landing punches. Chances of Bradley landing something that will slow Pac down is much less likely than the opposite. Pac gets hit but he doesn't get hurt much. Margarito to the body is the only that comes to mind and Margo still got the much worse end of that beating. The question is "How do you fight Pacquaio?" You don't, can't really, abandon what you are comfortable with in a fight of this magnitude. Bradley will be working on what has always been his strength in the belief that he can execute because it has always worked for him before. He isn't , can't, won't turn into a retreating counter puncher for this one fight. Is there anything he can do with his style and abilities to beat Pac? I don't believe so but the responses really should be centered around what they should be doing to tweak his current style and not trying to reinvent him from the ground up.
I definitely agree Hermit, and I think that last sentence you put forth is what they're trying to do; study what worked against Manny before, and apply it to the dynamics of Tim's already established style.
