A pro fighter who has good wins, a good record, and is competing on HBO isn't a bum.

Very sad - Gomez looked good, I can't take that away from him. A potential fight with JCC Jr would be fun to watch. And for Gatti - enjoy you're retirement and thank you for all of the thrills.

Now Gatti was never known for his intelligence, but that was just plain dumb. Looks like he saw that PBF toyed with him, so he thinks "ok, I'll fight like Floyd then"..

The dumbest idea in the world. It would be like Arnold Schwarze****** going for miss world instead of mr. Universe.

Gatti doesn't have what it takes to carry that style and secondly he doesn't have the brains to learn it. Even if he had both of those there would not have been time to learn it. He skipped around like Floyd and then when Gomez gets close he suddenly doesn't know if he is Floyd or Gatti and just stands there. Not moving like Floyd and not slugging like Gatti.. and he basically gives Gomez a lot of free shots because he can't decide who he is or because he hadn't considered what Floyd does when the opponent corners him. Apparently Gatti had only gotten arounmd to the skip skip-hop-part of Floyd's style.

This is embarrasingly dumb. I think Gatti fighting like Gatti could have won. Gatti fighting like anything but Gatti is just dumb.

Gomez seems like a nice kid, and I like his come-forward gutsy style. Although everyone knew how battle-worn Gatti was coming into this, it's a nice high-profile win for Gomez to pick up, and I feel good for him.

Gatti, simply, needs to call it a day.

Ref should've stopped that much earlier. Gatti was taking unnecessary punishment.

Gomez isn't a "bum," true - but he's not exactly a world class fighter, either. A prime Gatti doesn't lose to guys like Gomez or Baldomir. It's CLEARLY time to hang 'em up.
