if they test him with someone world class it wont be Juan Diaz. They can get someone at that level without spending the big bucks it would cost to go Diaz in the UK.

Its stepping it up slowly more than protecting him as it is testing him against a style he cannot cope with fundamentally.

I would say it is more protecting him putting him in with guys that will stand in front of him all the time (no matter how good they are) rather than a style he struggles with.

 

What about Barrera or Morales??, big names big fights and winnable - big size and strength advantages for Murray.

I wanna see him fight Rees also who deserves a shot at lightweight. Dont give a toss about Murray v Mitchell dont know why but I just dont give a **** about the fight.

 

He has a Very good chance at diaz who's punch resistance is completely shot, i think him and katsidis would be a war but i think its a war that could cost him his career much like it did with earl,
acosta, Vasquez,Gurerreo,DeMarco would give him problems, Rios and marquez would muller him
The Only Guy i'd make him the absolute favourite against is jorge linares I think thats a fight murray will shine in and if i was murrays promoter its the fight i'd personally want to make, he'd come unstuck against the rest

 

Murray is a Euro/domestic level fighter who gives great value in all his fights, nothing more but nothing less.

There is nothing wrong with this, anyone with an ounce of true boxing know how can see he is not at world level, people who want to see him in with Diaz katsidis Marquez etc are sadists.

If he continued to defend his EBU title he can make a few defences and make a decent amount of coin. That is his level and a beatdown at world level is probably gonna do him alot of harm, unless there is a massive pay check obviously.

Considering that I don't think he is at world-level, I would put him in with Mitchell or some other European guy. Out of the options listed here I would go with Diaz or Soto because one is on his way out and the other guy is the weakest champ at 135.
