Came across this guy, as I was randomly trawling on boxrec. He had a pretty exemplary amateur career. The kind of amateur career where you'd think he'd be brought along by some top promoter. For example he has a win over Julio Cesar La Cruz back when he was 17 and La Cruz was 21. That victory was for the Pan-American games title. Yet after 9 fights, his record looks like this. http://boxrec.com/boxer/646375 Anyone know anything about this guy? Is he just lazy or something?
Drew with Joey Dawejko last night. The guy clearly has a manager who just tosses him in with anyone, right from the beginning of his career. Strange that a guy with his amateur pedigree hasn't been brought along better
So why keep tossing him in against decent opposition? Hes in his early 20s with a quality amateur record. Rebuild his record by keeping him active against journey men for a few years. Perhaps its the boxers lack of discipline, but I just find it odd the way his career has been handled
I think you're overrating his amateur career. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_at_the_2011_Pan_American_Games
Its not Loma type stuff, but it is more impressive than most. http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Human:646375 Anyone with a victory over Julio Cesar La Cruz must have something going for him
This. His last two opponents look like his management team have given up on him and are cashing out on him.
