Two draws with Edouard and close losses to Albert and Linton are nothing to scoff at, but this is a tall order for not having fought in four years. Plus, against a Cuban in Miami, he'll need a knockout to get a draw.
yeah its gonna be an uphill battle for him. i look forward to it though. anyone else going to the card?
And the result is ..... For the ones who did'nt have the chance to watch these fights live, at least, here are the link for Johnson fight: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_gMa_F5y0A[/ame] Enjoy ...!
Yudel gets little hype compared to the other Cubans, but he's a good fighter and will make some noise when his opposition will be better. About his trainer... it was reported a few months back that he and Rigo would both join Freddie Roach, but I haven't seen Freddie in his corner so far. Maybe he's with another Wild Card trainer or didn't move to LA at all? I don't know.
he didnt adapt to the lifestyle in La and moved back to miami, his trainer is A$$ is the same guy that got fired when he was training gamboa and thank god for that if gamboa still had him he would be nowhere
:nono You are the only one judging him by this fight. We Cubans know very well Yudel Johnson, as we saw him fighting since winning the national championship already at the age of 16, and yes he is an excellent fighter with great ring generalship.
Jhonson was 3-0 before this fight. But he was, make not mistake, the most experience fighter of the two. Beaupierre had lost his last three fights. His last fight was in in 2006, and he took the fight on 11 days notice. Not saying the Cubans wasn't good but, DID ANYONE EXPECTED ANYTHING DIFFERENT TO HAPPEN????? All I am saying is: The guy is worth keeping an eye on him. But let not start saying he will be the next fighter of the decade. Lets wait until he fights anyone with a pulse. LAst night was just a show.
Agree with the first point, sort of iffy on the 2nd one. Still not COMPLETELY on the Jhonson bandwagon but he certainly has some tools.
