Yunier Dorticos vacates WBA belt

Lol they weren't going to be undisputed anyway. Lebedev has the real WBA despite losing to Gassiev. If you want to split hairs and say they aren't going to be undisputed because Dorticos vacated then you have to accept they weren't going to be undisputed in the first place. I'm of the opinion that since Gassiev won fair and square he's the real WBA champ along with the IBF champ.

 

Gassiev didn't sign the rematch clause which is why the WBA wasn't on the line. I was confused to and had to ask this forum about that. A lot of people think that if he did sign the clause he likely wouldn't have been able to compete in the tournament so this may have worked out better for the fans.

 

We all know whoever wins this tournament is THE #1 cruiserweight in the world so not a huge deal about the WBA trinket not being in the mix.

 

Just a brain fart but anyone else feel that Bellew suddenly deciding that he had to move up to beat Haye was very convenient way of avoiding most of these guys in the tournament...he'd have been blown away in real good time...

 

Ward gonna get the ledbedev fight and foul his way to surviving the distance and getting a gift and he can retire to hide from the real Champ

 

I call bullshiit.

The IBF can NOT force an opponent to vacate his title vs their titlist.
They can refuse to sanction the fight, but the approvals have all been made prior to the tournament.
It's not as if they would be recognizing him as a unified titlist. It's not their place.

If YD has been approved to challenge for the ibf title, then that's that.

Gassiev is AGAIN being fukked out of his rightfully earned wba title
