Isn't him who was brutalised in a sparring video by Kirkland a couple of years ago?

So as planned Pascal fights on Kovalev's undercard and they are meeting for a rematch this Fall?
    Not bad :happy

Seems that would be the plan if Pascal is on the undercard. I'm fine with a Kovalev-Pascal rematch, the first fight was good. I would prefer to see Pascal pick up a more significant win or two beforehand though but I wouldn't complain about a rematch this year.

    Great Fight!

Gonzelez KO of Rowland Bryant was one of the best ever!

Smart move here by Pascal. This is a credible and ranked opponent he can dissect to get himself back on track.

I'm glad Gonzalez is getting an opportunity, surprised it wasn't Sullivan Barrera though. Good fight for both, gives Gonzalez a chance to prove himself (even if he loses but gives a good fight) and allows Pascal to regain confidence.

Wow, he did? I seriously don't know why, he can't afford to wait, he's 33 years old. I don't understand some of these boxers, they should stay active and relevant by fighting multiple times a year (like GGG), not sit down and wait for a big fight (which probably won't happen because they are not relevant!!).
Demetrius Andrade, Barrera are just a few. They expect to get big paydays like a Mayweather or a Pacquiao. They don't realize that it wasn't until Floyd was 30yo and Pacquiao, 29, and several fights in (35+), when they finally got their big breaks (they won millions before that, but it wasn't until they fought de la Hoya when they finally made it big).

Dissect? So you don't give him much of a chance vs Pascal?

He'll try, maybe bag some rounds, but the leaping hook will do him in before all is said and done. :good

Good solid opponent, and potentially dangerous one, Pascal may get KO'd again, because of the disparity in skill level Pascal should win this but.....? You never know.

Yunieski Gonzalez is a 29 year old about 6'1 Light Heavyweight with a 15-0 11 KO's record. Born in Piñar del Rio, Cuba and fighting out of wait for it.... Miami, Florida, no shock there, he immigrated to the states to provide for his son and parents still living in Cuba. He's a hard punching kind of sloppy former amateur who is fun to watch but I have a feeling he won't get too far against the likes of Kovalev and Beterbiev, hopefully he's not packing glass like many of his fellow countrymen, because if he is he won't last long in this stacked division. His style is fairly fun he leaps in a lot with overhand rights and he may be a brutal KO waiting to happen, however he does hit pretty hard so he always has a puncher's chance to pull off a victory. Thankfully he is an exciting fighter from Cuba for a change eschewing the dull mind numbing amateur style and going for a little more action. So Check Out El Diamante The Cuban Head Smasher.

Oh, but he tried. Purse split was the issue, with Pascal wanting 50/50 and Stevenson being stuck up with the 70/30 split from the WBC rules. Don't even know if they tried meeting halfway at 60/40.

...and their drawing power right now is about the same, in Montreal anyway.

This is interesting, I just wish Haymon/Duva wasn't an obstacle to fights getting made.

Pascal: beat Stevenson in the ams, lost to Kovalev in the pros, sparred Beterbiev (Cloud fight)

Kovalev: won AND lost to Beterbiev in the ams, beat Pascal in the pros, is now a known fighter (as an outsider) in the Montreal market

Beterbiev: won AND lost to Kovalev in the ams, smoked one of Stevenson's best wins, uses the same trainer as Pascal

Stevenson: lost to Pascal in the ams, smoked Pascal's best win, might have sparred Kovalev going by http://www.danslescoulisses.com/fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/StevensonKovalev_zpse6ec6832.jpg
