I think Arbachakov was probably one of the best punchers in the lower weight division. His right hand was laser accurate and his punch selection was just beautiful. I firmly believe that he was just as good as Finito Lopez, if not a little bit more skilled in my opinion. Both were like the mini version of Alexis Arguello.

A guy who is not talked about enough. Don't know if he was quite as skilled as Finito but he certainly was vicious.

He was lovely to watch. Had shades of Harold Johnson at times, just textbook perfect. A shame that he doesn’t get nearly enough attention with other great flyweights. I rank him as top 5 best flyweights. I get the feeling that if he were American or Latino he would be talked about more.

Yeah, great fighter, certainly ability wise at least. Like you say, picture perfect boxer-puncher. Very complete skill set and punching arsenal with excellent poise and power, although he could coast too much against lesser opposition at times and be a bit too laid back and patient. Still, one of the first guys I think of in the lower weights when the most complete boxer punchers are being discussed. I hold him and Nazarov as better p4p talents who were Soviet exports than the likes of Tszyu if I'm honest.

Shame we didn't get to see more or him, or at least vs a much higher level of competition. Absolutely not his fault however. Thanks for the share!

Totally agree, great fighter. Felt he was certainly more a deserving candidate for the IBHOF than Winky Wright. But, they gave Winky the nod.
