Bump. Arbachakov needs more exposure to the casual fans, especially fans of Lomachenko, Usyk, GGG, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Gvozdyk.

Sasakul was a very good fighter... when he lost to Pacquiao, he did not get a meaningful fight for at least 4 years and felt it was a shame as he was plenty capable of regaining his title back if he was only given a shot at any of the other champs...

Yeah....Chartchai Sasakul was. Yuri beat him first and then he beat Yuri.

Alright....... A little embarrassed to honestly say ive never heard of him or plain ignored him all these years, but my God, what brilliant fighter to watch. I'm ashamed honestly. Thanks for the thread @Flo_Raiden .

Love watching Yuri. Absolutely awesome boxer.

But as McGrain said, his resume is thin (but still better than Ricardo Lopez) . Chang would beat him, and so would the great flyweights.

I agree 100%. My 3 favorite fighters Ricardo Lopez, Orlando Canizales, and Yuri Arbachakov all share that same characteristic to each other where they have a very aesthetically pleasing boxing style that's lovely to watch but have a pretty lacking resume, despite looking good on film.

Yeah, it makes them overrated H2H IMO. I know I'm harsh on boxers like Lopez, but looking at older threads, the hype is ridiculous. You gotta harsh to balance it a bit.

Also, you actually got alot of responses for posting Yuri in General! Alot more than posting in classic. Maybe add 'Primo Carnera' to the title?

Absolutely. I'm not afraid to admit that Ricardo Lopez does get overrated these days and I do criticize Lopez's lack of quality opponents and other skills that he wasn't great at. I still find it ridiculous how people call Lopez as this "perfect fighter" that can't be beat.

Yep, annoys me too. When you offer specific criticisms to Lopez, his style, resume etc. people will say '51 - 0 tho' or 'pretty uppercuts' though. It really annoys Flea Man lol.

I was really surprised by the responses here as well. Really wanted to share the brilliant style and skills of Arbachakov to the General forum.
Unfortunately I don't know too much about Primo Carnera.

Trust me, you don't wanna know. Classic has a complex over him, and Marciano.

I wrote a piece on Yuri Arbachakov. Excellent practitioner from top to bottom and I haven't seen a flyweight who I would make a big favorite over him. I just wish 108 and 105 never existed, which would have narrowed the scope of opponents. You would have had Arbachakov, Lopez, Carbajal, Gonzalez, Johnson, and even Woo Yuh for a short bit competing alongside one another.

Bump. People who are just now jumping on the Beterbiev bandwagon should definitely check out Arbachakov.
