After all it was Yuri Romanov, not Amir Khan who faced Jonathan Thaxton, the trash-talker British LW champion who said would stop Amir Khan. And Romanov dominated, busted up the face and stopped Thaxton after the 5th (Romanov didn't come out for the 6th). Today Amir Khan can prove vs. the less dangerous Kristjansen that he's a top LW contedner as well... and if wins, Warren has already mentioned the possibility of the Khan vs. Romanov fight as he'd like to give the opportunity to Amir to win the European title. But Romanov is a young, strong contender, probably THE test before a world title fight and Khan has to perform perfectly if he wants to get past the dangerous Romanov... Who would win this fight between the two young LW contenders? Please vote!
i think khan wins. It could be a sketchy first couple of rounds just taking it easy, but after about 3-4 rounds i think khan would finsih him off
Khan would win a clear cut decision over Romanov imo. Competitive enough, but Khan seems more a lt-welter now, has a bit more speed, reach, and would do enough to get the win.
I think ramonov would stop khan after he's weathered the storm for the first 3 or 4 rounds. Would be a great fight with khan looking impressive but doesn't score that many clean shots though yuri's guard. Them bam! gets countered and brutalised
Romanov wasn't really pushed. I think Amir can take Romanov out of his comfort zone but I can't believe Amir won't get tagged at some point....
Amir Khan TKO7 Kristjansen. What do you think? The Romanov of Friday vs. the Khan of Saturday... VOTE!
I would root for Romanov, but I would bet my money on Khan. The English based Pakistani young talent is a classy fighter who would probably have a tough time with a capable operator like Romanov, but who would prevail after 12 long and demanding rounds at long last. However,a victory for Khan isnt a sure bet. Khan 's chin may be his weak spot, and as we all know Romanov has pop in his fists. Well, all in all Khan is just a little bit better in most departments than Romanov. Khan by point decision in a competitive fight!
Romanov stops him imo. He keeps a tight defence can counter both quickly and with power, something Khan would struggle with. Khan likes to control the pact, pot shots with combinations to the head, keeping the guy at arms length, it has been succesful so far but romonov is a big step up from the Dane he beat last night. Romonov counters him in 7 which stuns him before he stops Amir in 8. this fight is not likely to happen. Expect to see Khan - Thaxton next up.
