Now, that's something I agree with.

I thought Cotto did a fine job overall tonight. However, as Atlanta said, you can't get carried away with it (EDIT: I just saw that Atlanta said this was as good as the Jennings win and I disagree with that).

Roy was right about the movement limiting Cotto's bodywork, you see it all the time...recently both Abraham and Froch offered 0 bodywork against Dirrell for instance. His jab was snappy and he was rocking Foreman with it. His footwork seemed better. He didn't hunch over as much(his balance seemed better).

The negative is, he still got tagged too easily for my liking. It might be ok against a relatively inactive and featherfisted Foreman, but against monster punchers like Angulo and Kirkland or volume punchers like Margarito and Paul Williams he'd be in trouble.

Good win for sure, just needs to be taken for what it is (meaning, it's not certain whether Cotto is "back").

  3. Steward said that Cotto's footwork was bad but I didn't see any improvements. Reason being is that if improvements had been made, Cotto would've been able to cut off the ring and do some good bodywork. But, maybe he just couldn't really catch up to Yuri? Maybe he was worried about getting worn out if he tried to cut off the ring? Either way, there is still a big question mark over Cotto's head for me.

Cotto cant win can he....They completely write him off to the point where it seems he doesnt have a chance in hell at beating foreman and after he knocks the guy's gut in Ya wana say he had a mediocre performance!!!**** that!!!!He was finding foreman without a problem why waste energy in cutting the ring and force himself out of a comfortable pace.

i think your confusing cutting the ring off with closing distance, which is something cotto didnt have to do because his jab was working beautifully.
if your opponent moves to the right then you move to your left if he moves to the left then you move to your right this is how you cut the ring and cotto was doing this.
also yuri was only wounded for two or three rounds(bad memory), before that cotto only gave up one round against a pure boxer, not bad IMO.

Cotto does well with Fighters who can't tap him back with damaging shots. As we have observed before.Marg, Clot and Pac can sting him and get him reeling back with their weaponry.Foreman just does not have the power to hurt Cotto and this why Cotto was looking dominant.

Foreman does not plant his feet, therefore he is a light puncher. Pac would knock Cotto out again, at any weight.

I think the Foreman who fought tonight would have given any fighter trouble tonight. How can you say Cotto would not have done well vs someone who throws back. He prepared for a boxer who is good on his feet and beat the guy at his own game. If that isn't impressive then you are the one who fails to be objective
