These a couple of my favorite young champions on the rise.. Who would you guys take if the fight was signed tomorrow? No tune ups.. Just say Gamboa takes skips Jl and fights Rios in September for his LW strap who do you got and why?

This is a close one. I picked Gamboa because of his sharp power punching but now I'm leaning toward Rios' size, toughness, chin and power. Rios took hellacious shots from Acosta, who is much bigger than Gamboa and has power of his own. I don't think Rios would be denied, he'd wear Gamboa down and beat him up. Rios TKO9

Gamboa would suffer a 20 pound weight disadvantage

How would Salido do vs. Marquez?

You simply can't be anywhere close to remotely serious asking this. Rios would dwarf the hell out of Gamboa, who will not continue to get better past 130, especially not now.

I think Gamboa would carry the weight well, physically hes a big fw... Its just Rios is a big Lw..

As for Salido-Marquez they already fought.. When both were in their prime and Marquez won a wide decision... Salido also had a few fights at LW and did well.

gamboa lacks lateral movement and makes mistakes that could be costly

I think a Rios type of fighter is close to the kryptonite to beatin Gamboa. He'll keep a high guard, get close to Gamboa and rough him up. Rios can move a bit and can take a beating, I think this would end similarly to the Acosta fight, though I myself consider Acosta a much better boxer than Gamboa.

Right even though he has the physical skills to be slick and use lateral movement.. Hes more in and out type and dont think that would work for long againt Rios..

I think Gamboa would look good early and even suprise Rios by bringing most of his power up.. He might even suprise him with a knockdown, but Rios weathers the storm and by the 4th 5th hes breaking thru and scoring on Gamboa.. Hed drop Gamboa hard in one of these rounds .. Gamboa would try and use his superior speed and might win a round or 2 after this, but Rios would time him well, and Gamboas movement isnt complicated enough to stay away for long... Rios breaks thru again and stops Gamboa in 8 or 9 rounds.

Early on i beleive Rios would be so much outclassed it would look stupid , as the fight wore on providing Gamboa hadnt taken him out i think Rios's size and strength would start to play on Gamboa and he would have a rough last 3 rounds that might be touch and go .

Gamboa by decision would be my guess , but i dont see Gamboa fighting above SFW tbh , he just doesnt have the frame

Rios would be too big, Gamboa would kill him if he carried his weight well in a few years.
